joy of togetherness

We in this life are so busy and constantly tied up with our daily routines. It becomes so much a part of your daily chores that you tend to forget the most important aspect of bonding and togetherness. This factor is so prime and an essential aspect of life that if you have missed out on that you have not lived life at all. I too don't socialize much and always believed that it is better to keep a few good friends than have the dozens of guys who latch on for benefiting out of you or your position or the materialistic status you have.

But when you pause and wonder if you could give quality time maybe one or 2 times a year to meet and share joy and happiness amongst your loved ones, it is an awesome feeling. You may have missed some good and bad times of each other lives, and this helps you seal the gaps, build new bridges, iron out small differences if any and make these relations rock solid. We had one such meet recently after many years and honestly I found that I did miss out on a lot.May be i had some mindsets or just that I didn't find it important to devote enough time and energy to this. One of the members very rightly stated" ultimately its this group that will stand by you in all good and bad times ,people will perish but fond memories like these will last for ever".I agree 200%.

So if you haven't done an annual get together , then pack your bags and go do it.Its never too late.

  1. I agree 200%.

Togetherness seems vital for mental health. In spite of all the glory in western countries, what people might be missing there is sense of togetherness, which we take here for granted. A couple of decades before, togetherness in India was by default since there was no other recreation. Today, conscious efforts are needed for this, what with all "entertainment" avenues sucking out our free time.
