At the crack of dawn,yesterday, I woke up to the chirping of birds in the vicinity of my house.I looked out and was surprised because it wasn't the usual , where we have around 21 parrots, 15 odd squirrels and a few pigeons and robins for company.It was on a chickoo tree next door that a battalion of birds had flocked , which included 2 dark black crows as well which are hard to find in Baroda.I tried to figure out as to why this chatter and didn't notice anything unusual.The chirping grew and then there were parrots, wag tails, the pigeons,the quails, the mynah, the yellow beaked brown feathered clan of unknown category( atleast to my knowledge) all flocking in and around the tree.
This normally would happen if the cat is on the prowl to pick up its prey, or by chance if they have already succeeded to shoo it away .But , when i inspected the same at close quarters no signs of that as well.Then this may happen if a snake , is winding itself up the tree .But no, that too was not to be so.
This chatter went on for hours and only on that tree.It was a mysterious phenomena and i am seeking the explanation for the same.It died down by evening ,but never have I witnessed this before.The flock would be around 50-55 birds for sure of 5-6 different varieties.Even the canines around were stumped by this endless chatter.I would like to investigate this further for sure.
Quite uncanny, eerie if I may put it at that, may be spirits of the ethereal kind or ET on a visit to Baroda.My side of town:))
