AGEING

The only thing that we cannot reverse and the inevitable will happen. This however is something that I happen to see around and also features in many discussions when you sit with the family and friends. What i observed is that so many parents 50 plus and staying alone with the kids studying, working or settled abroad are completely lost and may or may not be willing to accept the fact that they at some point of time are going to find things difficult to cope up with alone.Health, inflation and the fast pace that is resulting in a major shift in the way life is going to take a big toll in the years to come.

Many of them try to defend and cover up the reality and the issues faced by them and others have realized what is going to hit them. Just Sending Money but not being present and being around makes a lot of difference.I see couples hobbling with knee joint operations helping each other as they complain about the travails of day to day struggles. Then come the more serious issues, of servants and travel with every thing there and yet nothing in hand.

The people settled abroad and calling themselves the Brits, American of Indian origin etc have lots on their plate to struggle. One needs people around to comfort you in these times and simply having Dollars and Euros transferred is not enough.

Pride parents take in stating my children are abroad and then facing ground realities back home is really a shocker.Lets wake up and take a note.
