A term that is easily said but really hard to find .True friends, who stay with you through thick and thin share your moments are the real friends .God has been kind to give me these and i am eternally grateful to him for these genuine gems.Shounak, Sanat, kishore, Kunj and Nitin -5 of them , now with their families and kids have been together for over 35 years. We are located at different places spanning the globe, each one of us successful in their own sphere and still connected through the fabric of mutual respect, love, and family bonds. The current generations are also fairly well connected and we can set an example of true friendship to them and pray to god that this continues for the times to come.
I would like to mention one of them this time .Kishore, a B-Tech in chemical Engineering and the most modest and tallest in the group.Married and father of 2 children stays in Pune and running his own business as a chartered Engineer today and his wife a home grown entrepreneur ,successfully running her boutique. He has been one person who never to date has lost his cool, always smiling and happy with his life inspite of the odds he has had to face.Supporting his parents and his family and overcoming such ordeals that are even difficult to imagine, never ever have i seen him complain. He has set an example for us and many others that with as strong will and determination one can cross any hurdle with a smile. His innocence, simplicity, and straightforwardness is something one can envy. The connect he manages to establish with all of us , irrespective of his domestic issues is creditable. The others in the group each have their own strengths and areas of improvements but inspite of being 5 different fingers we belong to the same palm and when closed can be a powerful force to reckon with.
Just keep wondering , how grateful i am to almighty for giving genuine friends who are willing to stand by your side and be with you without expectations, inspite of being miles apart. Will cover my other gems in the next posts.

and then don't forget the Family ... Friends, Family and Food always a great combo!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet Kishore.
thanks manee.....family is first and when friends as good as these become family there is only a thin line or DNA or blood group that differentiates:)....many a times friends come out as clear winners as they have lesser strings attached.Families may end up up in an emotional struggle where practical friends prevail.......life is complex indeed
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky to have Kishore in our group. The way he managed his business, home, bed-ridden wife, school going children with smiling face is an example for others. More courageous and determination is shown by his wife Varsha who overcame her disabilities (staying on 3rd floor without elevator), taking care of children, family. Even in this condition she continued her home grown business. Today she runs her own shop. Today looking at them nobody can imagine the difficulties they have gone through few years back. Their 6'1" tall son Udit has completed BE and daughter is in college.
ReplyDeleteHats off to Kishor and Varsha. They have shown how to win over the bad times smilingly.
