juice up

I keep watching a guy who sits outside the joggers park and does booming business on all kinds of juices. What i realised was that people who came in various shapes and sizes, trying to shed off their signs of prosperity ,were queuing up for that elixir that they believe is going to make them fit as a fiddle.

The guy outside sells all kinds of colored juices, namely wheat grass, neem and amla and the icing on the cake the orange juice-all time favourite. What amuses me is that he will become a millonaire no doubt and people blindly ask him for a glass of mixed juice(???) and drink to their hearts content yapping away to glory all the rumors and global news on health and economy as well as their neighbourhood.

I can see for sure that the lawns in the joggers park are fast depleting and sometimes wonder what really goes in that wheat grass juice??The way people queue up is like waiting outside a restaurant till they get a seat and they even will block the entrance , oblivious of the fact that it is meant as an entry and exit point for other serious joggers.God save these people. As far as business mind goes, hats off to the juice guy.2 hours every morning with 5-10 bucks a glass and monthly accounts of 90 plus guys only cash is great business indeed.Income tax????what's that???Who cares???No proof and may be he qualifies for the BPL guys as per the government norms and gets all perks meant for them.Double whammy.

  1. All the concerns expressed here about the quality of juice, nuisance to serious joggers, tax-free income are perfectly OK. Yet, it's a possibility that whatever "juice" is being sold may be ACTUALLY BENEFICIAL to health. What about stalls selling tea, cigarettes, gutkha and junk foods to tired joggers? They too enjoy the same privileges, cause the same nuisance and into the bargain, sell health-damaging items.

  2. As per your calculation the guy is making an average of 7 Rs per glass for 90 clients it works out to 630 bucks daily or Rs 18900 or say 20000 per month which is not that high an income. Consider the cost of raw materials, his labour cost, the hafta he may be paying to police or municipality . He won't qualify for any tax any ways !!
