wonder why?

All is going well and then all of a sudden ,life changes gears and you land up wondering why?Has this happened to you all?I too believe in going with the flow and aligning , realigning in life.Ups and downs, fast and slow tracks, we need to have that positive attitude and a smile on the face to keep moving.
I was told to keep loving myself so that you are ready to face any situation with grit and determination.Yes it does help.I fight within my mind space and have a duel with the thoughts that keep distrupting my happiness.I say to myself" to hell with these thoughts and chuck them out".They pop back!I meditate to get to the inner peace and it takes me through for some time, till the other thoughts start clamoring. The thoughts of what if?I try to keep these at bay to the maximum and yet they keep climbing all over me.I sometimes wonder that if i don't express them and get them out quick , my mind will become a railway station in Mumbai during peak hour traffic.

If i have my mind idling then off it goes in a tangent to all those worrisome thoughts and you need to digress and involve into something positive to keep yourself going.Actually , I am very happy, quite content with myself and moving at a pace I like.I need not have any thing to really make me get into this spin. Its all about family and your loved ones that keeps you engaged and at the same time concerned, what if?I will face the medicos again due to some issue soon and it puts you back in terms of can i still get back to the same pace as before.Just because i have been through that health concern, does it slow down my pace and energy with which i wish to move ahead in life?I know it takes realigning.I also know it is like a  rubber band and its upto you as an individual to bounce back chucking out all these negativity. Why then does this bog my mind ?I miss interacting with individuals and exchanging brain stimulating conversations. They make me go,They make me forget these stupid thoughts. But they cann't last for hours or days. What a dilemma?

But blogging has helped me immensely to bring these thoughts to the fore, express them candidly and maybe seek views and opinions as well.Hope this avenue makes me stronger going ahead.

(0)pposition

This is read as Zero Position. This is not the latitude/Longitude or GMT specification , but its the sheer disregard shown by our Opposition parties in the shameful incident that has shook India. The ruling party is clueless and cannot strike a chord with the people at large. They mumble or fumble and inspite of a lady having the remote have not dared to face the truth by coming and trying to understand the sentiments of the Delhi public. The opposition took photo opportunities, stated a few words and forgot. This  is the difference between us and the international community. They step out , act and deliver quick. We ruminate, procrastinate and fail to even deliver .False assurances inspite of 7500 registered rapes in the country in one year and one every 22 minute is shameful. They don't need tons of people to act on this. They need people with a will, guts to deliver and execute the sentence and make it a law.The "aye' and 'nay" in the parliament in this case must be 200% "aye"whenever it convenes..The fast track court to just announce took 7 days!!!!!!!!The people presiding there , hopefully are not dummies!!!

Our Home minister and Home secy have contributed to the ever increasing Indian population with 3 girl child each and are trying to tell the public that they are in  synch with public sentiments?????Are we to believe them? They travel in red beacon cars and best of places escorted by security and not in buses and ordinary transport means as done by us.The opposition also, sedate and lost .God knows who can govern a country like ours and take it safely to the future.

Poster boy and future PM aspirant is nowhere to be seen....maybe visiting Amethi......................................Where is his youth brigade????Where is his will and commitment???

Ticket to Hell

The cruel incident that shook India and the world as well, about the rape in Delhi is now being torn to shreds on every TV channel. The endless debates, some sombre, some very vociferous, some going into a spin grinding the same flour whereas other trying to seek solutions that are workable. One starts pointing at the law and order situation in Delhi and the incompetent police, the unfair distribution of 85000 cops with more than 7500 on VVIP duty leaving just 1 cop per 350 people!!!!! Then come the number of pickets and check points (manned and alert) at different points. These are followed by sting operations by TV crew to capture the bytes of police officials through spy cam and generate more hatred and anger towards the cops who are caught napping or don't know what to express and yet do so just to be on TV.Then we shift to the MHA and the secy of Home defending the smart work carried out by the cops and giving those same assurances that they keep giving for years and end up no where. To add spice ,the home secretary travels in a bus at night and visits places like Connaught place in the upmarket Delhi area, to check the police patrolling where such crimes would not take place generally.

Then we shift focus to the public on the streets at large demanding safety for all and especially ladies."Placards like "Our voices are louder than our skirts","Rapist should be hanged"etc and burning candles and keeping a vigil at night. The CM initially powering them down with water cannons and then offering her security for night patrolling!!!The crocodile tears of some politicos and some genuine heartfelt statements all become a part of the daily life of an Indian who keeps wishing this and then......................

We forget. The same politicians have no will to exercise the legislations, to pass stringent laws and actually apply them on ground with no interference , which is of utmost importance. The various law and order agencies are pushed to the wall with this interference from  the bigwigs and that breaks down the entire intent. Then the attitude of the miserly paid cops made to work overtime every day, no holidays, no family life, no weapons and authority, always being rundown by the superiors and therefore looking at securing their lives with money than get into all this .Who would join the forces??and why??To be butted around in public and humiliated by any tom, dick and harry just because of his connections? If we had cops like "dirty Harry" who vow to execute and settle cases then and there would be ideal, but would require restraint and maturity to assess such cases.Even if we pass stringent laws and the cases keep  happening , the judiciary cannot keep on giving capital punishment or measure Rape vs rape and evaluate what punishment the culprit deserves. The noose or chemical castration .In this particular case capital  punishment to all is a must to drive home that message " NO messing around with the daughters of India".However, in future ,create a special women cell for such incidents if any and push the case through fast track courts announcing the punishments like a fatwa issued by Taliban and highlighting those to ensure others don't  ever dare to tread that path. The attitude of men towards their wives, daughters and female colleagues need to change.Ladies should also try not to provoke the male scents and films in particular as well as TV soaps should stop the blatant use of sex and extramarital affairs and blowing hot scenes across billboards in the county.

On the longterm, sex education in school should be started much earlier. The most important being educating the uneducated villagers how to treat, respect and love women. The public at large, that is US, must have enough courage to stand up and fight and protect any damsel in distress , however large or small the case may be.Start to eliminate the root cause like eve teasing.10 lashes in public will do the job.groping 50 lashes in public and anything beyond" ticket to hell"............

Minority

These are issues raised and created by Politicians to divide and rule and offer baits to just secure their seats. Why do we fall prey to these actions? Why cann't the so called minority stop being the VICTIMS always and play a more proactive role and add value as they do in their own businesses.?What is wrong in supporting the person who has delivered on many fronts in a shorter time than those who have been ruling as a family dynasty for over 100 years? They are corrupt to the core, shameless and spineless and should never be voted into power.Either , one opts for the next best choice like Mr.Modi for instance who has demonstrated what he can do and if supported wholeheartedly with an open mind, it would be an example of unity, patriotism and commonsense application pan India.

By allowing these goons at the center to play with the sentiments and misguide the uneducated youth of this minority community , they are destroying the fabric of the nation. The caste based  politics, the reservations etc is all a game where none of these politicos get effected. They care a damn about the nation and least about the people. Its only " I, ME, MYSELF AND MY CHAIR".Let there be a level playing field, proactively work together in groups at local levels and then state levels to strengthen the public at large without politicizing it and then show what we can do as INDIANS rather than community xyz.

second line

Mr.Modi.Congratulations on a Hat trick.A trifle disappointed to see congress get those 10-15 extra votes inspite of the scams etc.Wonder what people see in there still??

My earnest request to you Mr.Modi , is to create a team  and a second line with a succession plan who is capable of taking  this progress in Gujarat forward .You have set the ground rules .Now someone capable has to have the same charisma as you ,to take things forward ,and hold the bastion.Invariably , people like you as an  Individual above the party you represent, and vote for you as an Individual. But looking at the larger canvas , its imperative for you to create that confidence in people of Gujarat( 6 crore plus as you mention) and bring successor to the fore already , so that you can make your  moves onto the national circuit and your successor runs the show here.

You have already proven your mettle and the main job of a coach ,mentor and guide is to help create more individuals like you and train them to take accountability in their hands and make them stake holders in the true sense of the term.If that is not done, people will be disappointed and the development plank will get into a reverse gear with the unwanted, dead wood occupying the seats of power.Trust you have your plans in  place.

I am not a Gujarati, but staying in Baroda and mainly as an Indian have full  faith in you to lead this country ably.Good luck and God bless.

irish ire

This is what can be done in India. The Irish Govt.based on a fiasco that shook the world after a death of an Indian origin Doctor that  took place, took measures to ensure such incidents are thwarted and legalised abortion, inspite of religious sentiments .Could this ever happen that soon in India?.

I would like to see capital punishment, fast track courts and quicker sensible decision making by the MP's in both houses of Parliament to ensure we mean business and will not tolerate such atrocities and nonsense.Instead of just stalling the parliament proceedings, creating a ruckus over stale issues, and wasting millions, this will send  a message to the crime world that we Indians cannot be taken for granted , as well as to the international community that we have a SPINE and we don't just MUMBLE.

Does it require many such incidences or sacrifices by innocent civilians for the Indian Govt. to react ?Only Its internal resolve and external pressure by the citizen, that helps it to take place. We must exert enough and more to ensure the women of India are safe and every family would take pride in having a daughter at their place. I want to see the level of tolerance we have to keep taking this #@** thrown at us and we keep voicing out virtually and on electronic medium with meek voices rather than action on the ground with minimal blame game..

D'rape Kapital

This is what Delhi is becoming, from a crime capital to the above.Ladies at the helm  of affairs , one for over decades and the other running the center and yet all  they can do is exchange letters after a 48 hrs wait. The PM ......what to say.Mum( not MOM) is the word.No views and no clues. The Home minister is new and hence is building rapport with Pakistan, therefore is overburdened with work.So then we start the blame game.Delhi Cops!!!Batter them. The crime against women cell, the media, the society take to  the streets, the MP's wake up and start taking note of the ground realities as they have never faced these situations in actual life.

But , who are the real ones to be blamed? Cops alone? How many vehicles can  they patrol and check physically?Do they have enough police per 1000 people to control the kind of crowds we have?Do they have enough pickets and of course then the time to devote to common man from the VIP;s of the capital who need unnecessary protection. The cops are lethargic, they are under paid, they don't care a damn, they are corrupt all that. But then , what about politicos?Aren't they the same?Have they fought hard to bring in stringent laws and more so create an environment to enforce them? They go and overrule the cops, drive in red beacon cars flashing sten guns and showing false power. With this kind of culture , its free for all.
What about us? Society?Halkat jawani songs, Jism 1-2-3 and the erotic scenes,Sunny Leone,Mahesh Bhatt's and Mallika's, the dance bars and alcohol stir up the hidden animal instincts in the Indian public, titillate them  and lead  them to do such heinous crimes? They don't have to be psychologically deranged to do this as claimed by Docs?

With the news channels describing the crime to the last detail has messed up the life of the poor family that is undergoing hell after what has happened to their daughter. The poor girl is struggling for her life. The society will never ever accept her as normal again even if we try.The same people burning candles will look away.We are to be blamed for allowing this and not just the cops. The Taliban has a proper code for this and I think  that is just right,No questions , just execute in public .No one should dare to look at a a girl with an evil eye.But then, this too could be wrongly interpreted and maybe at some point the law may be misused against a male.Quite possible. So how does one tackle all this.?In the USA whacko's go on a shooting spree killing innocent children, In Pakistan the Taliban keeps mining suicide bombers blowing up anything in their way,In the gulf people fighting and killing for reasons best known to them trying to occupy land.Aren't these the signs of doomsday coming soon. Each one of us has to police and make society a better place.Lets get down to business and make this world a better place to live.

We need to make us Indians fear and respect the law as in other countries!!We need no interference from politicians at any stage be it CBI,CID or plain police.Society at large should also do its little bit to avoid such situations than just passing the buck. The ladies should also take  care to balance the culture shift and dressing sense so as not to trigger of the male scents. One needs both hands to clap.If both sides are strictly adhered to and the laws of the state are implemented with serious intent and executed in time with the right message , no one will dare to rise above the law.

The final frontier

Politicians just don't learn. They keep on doing the same things forming new parties and trying to split and dividing the canvas, rather than build on it and create a new , better , cleaner image. All the stalwarts who came in and scooted of in GUJARAT were a sight to watch. The squeals and whimpers , the cat and mouse chase and trying to put a smile on their faces, flashing victory signs that are far away from reality. What a plight. The best thing I liked about these Gujarat elections were the voter turnout %.70% is Mind blowing. This is what we all must learn The educated urban class that must make the difference rather than those who get swayed with false promises and few rupees thrown at them. The caste based vote bank politics has to be squashed. We the people of India have the right to chose and elect the right representatives.Politicians are human beings and will rarely be clean. The only thing that we need to see is that we are moving, progressing, and not doing flip flops and U -turns like the spineless people today.

The results are going to show a new dawn and bring in fresh sunlight that will burn the weeds and grow new trees making the environment better in my opinion. This is the stepping stone to the centre for Mr.Modi and nobody in the opposition or ruling party can deny his passage. He deserves this fully and is the only sensible person with an Iron hand to govern this Nation.People will come and go even at the age of 78 and 83 years wanting to be alive in politics.Just shows the greed and hunger pangs of power. We need a fresh, fiery persona to represent us in the World and not people who have a squeaky voice and lack guts to turn around things. We need statesmen who make an impact consistently here and nationwide, and not boys running around looking cute. They should be acknowledged by the world leaders so that they realize what India is all about and not have a team of penguins and cattle running behind a shepherd who himself  has lost his way.

Lets help Mr.Modi make a strong and powerful India..Join hands together and exercise your ballot the next time and  ensure we have a single  party consensus than a sabzi mandi that is running our country now.Go for it Mr.Modi, we have a ray of Hope in you.As an Indian citizen , I am  supporting you and your initiatives whole heartedly.

sadbhavana

The  interior minister of Pakistan comes to India on  a SADBHAVANA mission (so called) and makes outrageous statements and then saying he was misquoted etc is such a disaster. This is taking Gandhiji's principles too far.People come, slap us, kick us and abuse us and we give our cheek, and the back side to be kicked harder. What self esteem do we?Do we have any respect and love for our country?1.2 Billion Indians and we are just gaping at the dirt thrown on us by our own media.

What Dumb people we have that run this country.Do we have anyone who can do the same in Pakistan when they visit ? Do we have the guts to do  such a thing and keep smiling and waving to the pakistani AWAM as we get to see here on our own soil?We go and accept awards for film stars" Nishan -e-Pakistan, keep pushing envelopes with the hope that some one fine day we will get Justice for 26/11!!!!!!Never in this lifetime.....

The Pakistani government cannot manage their own country and people, what sadbhavana can they create with us? Mr.Modi , is right. It demonstrates very clearly how weak we are .Feel sad as an Indian who cannot get justice for a slained braveheart captain of the Indian army, cannot book and try a terrorist who wrecked havoc on our parliament, cannot make bold and strong statements any where in the world like China does, and our own people in power on such a large landmass are making it porous by corruption and creating dissent within.Never will we ever learn a lesson that the British taught us during their 150 years of occupation.

Time Mr. Modi , takes over and shows the world that India can be governed better and stronger .

white wash

Looking at the savvy advertising on TV for face whitening creams, lotions, soaps and natural and xyz therapy, and the tons of people falling for it makes me wonder, are we really that desperate.Imagine ,getting a glow on your skin and making it fairer in 7 days ,against the laws of nature!!!.It is a boon in disguise as we will have no more racism. All whites, world wide.Africa would be a fairer continent, India would not need foreign tourist at Pushkar festival in Rajasthan.

There have been so many claims, be it germ free handwash( 99.99% or 98% to make it sound authentic and save the blushes of legal claims) these products are marketed across which makes me apply a simple logic. If i were to use the handwash that makes my hands 98% germ free and the other handwash which is competition 99.99% together, i may get almost a 100% germ free wash.Same with anti ageing creams and all face whitening creams that  supposedly make you Handsome?if used in tandem would possibly make me the most sought after male of the century for sure.If all toothpaste were mixed and used , my teeth will be immortal.Olive oil, sunflower oil and corn oil together may result in the most healthy baby of all times.Selling is telling lies ,convincingly,i know because I have been in Marketing and Sales all these years .However , the degree to which you subject the audiences today is too much to digest.

In the good old days , without all this ,still we had the most beautiful and charming faces and handsome men who dominated the film Industry and the political canvas. They drank, smoked ,but toiled hard that made them successful and kept them healthy, internally. All the external face lifts, tummy tucks, plastic surgeries were not done.Millions of dollars are spent in making mankind feel that they can reverse the law of nature and we get fooled into believing the same.

Management by religion

We Indians are a religious lot.In the process we are suppose to be innocently(stupidly most of the times) following many things under the name of religion and creating divides amongst us). This gives opportunities for others to step into the game and exploit us to no ends.

Temples are spread all over India. Then there is classifications based on the Deity, the location, the trust supporting it, the foreign investments ( FDI in religion),etc. Then the word of mouth stating "If xyz is offered to this deity your wishes would be granted"becomes the Mantra to pull crowd. If that was the case the wishes of all those who are serving in the temple would have been granted long back. But ,they know that just being there under the umbrella of the deity doing the daily chores gets them enough ..The kind of turnover the religious places get (devoid of tax due to exemptions et al) it can surpass  the economy of many a countries. The Tirumala, The shirdi trust, The Ajmer Dargah are just a few examples. The place generates revenue almost every square inch,Put an idol and people put money.Make prasad and sell it.Its an industry by it self.We intend to donate and do good etc or maybe try for income tax exemption by donating maybe in our own interest, but does it really reach the people who need it?

The volunteers who serve there, really wish to be part of the charity ,but the trustees ,are they really to be trusted?Instead of adorning the idol with Gold and silver and valuable precious stones which God clearly states is materialsitic, why don't we melt the metal, sell it and create funds to help the BPL people for food, education and create an industry that will earn them a living.Take help from professionals who can put that money to good use rather than just sparkle there.God has enough aura and doesn't require mankind to adorn him in gold and silver. When the people of foreign origin also realize the ROI opportunities in India through the religious channels , it will not be far when we will have "ISCKON TV".We are creating these shrines across India, thereby giving the future generations more opportunities to create Ayodhya's.The politicians will encourage caste based reservations who in turn will apply those regulations to the GODS as well, who knows? This is a god for X caste and the other for the Y sect?Money from here will go to only this caste and society and the FDI ( ISKCON) will generate donations for the foreign investors and their homes abroad. What a country ?What potential?Only we don't benefit, select few do under the name of god.1.2 billion brains and counting all closeted and with blinders.JAI HO!!!

what if?

Many of us procrastinate and keep twiddling our thumbs, crossing our legs and tying up our hands wondering what next? What if, this happens or doesn't happen? In this conflict of the mind ,we remain inconclusive on many a critical issue and then sit on the fence , not knowing which side to jump.

The current generation is even more confused it appears. They are very judgmental and react to extreme ends. Some want to jump into it wholeheartedly irrespective of the consequences, more because they don't have additional responsibilities on their shoulders , its a new start to  their lives, and if ,married and both earning ...then WOW.The other lot keep chewing the cud and ruminate no ends. They love chewing gum and make rubber out of gum that messes up with their cavities not only in their oral hygiene but also their mental space. Some love to bask under their cozy umbrella , encouraged by their parents and in  laws and spoiling their lives by not allowing them to get exposed to the realities of this world. If in this hire and fire world where pink slips are getting common, one needs to stand up and face the harsh realities.People get fancy designations doled out at a very young age, smartly put up the company HR so that they get the employees to believe that they have reached the penultimate position and for the lay man he becomes BIG BOSS.The truth being , many such guys loiter around that space in the office premises and keep doing the same jobs.If one decides to step out , he has no option but to search for a higher position as socially and professionally defined, or step down in the eyes of people considering that as a demotion, or stick back to where you are.

Imagine a Vice president in a top Bank  at an age of say 27-29.What next???President of another bank at age 33??????One in a million chance??What if he doesn't get that?Senior Manager at another company would be accepted, or would it be a step down?????The profile he would do would be the same .This way imagine what would happen to this person by the retirement age of 60!!!!!!For 30 plus years he will remain at the same designation with small tweaks to motivate him. What a smart plan.Do we see this or we just blindly follow?Think and act.Decide rationally and keep emotions aside at home. Its a tough world and one requires a lot of patience, proactive nature and a very positive attitude. Some believe that I must work in this line only as that's what i know best? How would you know if that is the best unless you try other lines as well???Who knows you may succeed more? But does one have it in him or her to take these bold steps??Age is not an issue? You need to have a heart and will to drive the car to the goal you want to reach. And trust me you will reach it.Take steps, take sides but think rationally and then go for it.Every lock has a key.Every problem is there because there is a solution. You only need the person to unlock its treasures.

god almighty

The movie OMG in Bollywood is so well made and presented , with facts that set your rational mindspace in full throttle. The arguments presented in court, the correlation between the Koran, bible and Geeta, the ultimate truth about religion and the lies of the  so called " rightful mediators between god and us"is awesome. Its true.God is not any single place. He is omnipresent. You need to search within and with faith you will find him.We must not negotiate terms with him.No give and take business. Its a surrender stating that you have chosen the path he would like you to follow.

The 3-4 characters that depict the so called big bluffs who under the pretext of religion and god have amassed millions and fly in private jets,  leaving the hungry stranded at the doors of each religious shrine. The truth about all kinds of accessories distributed under the name of god and scaring the living daylights of the people if they don't wear it on person etc is a big commercial business. These same then become big superstitions and are blindly followed even by the educated lot.

The dialogue that states " because the building that collapsed had many a deity of god that were buried , it would be cursed and would not have commercial value or success?????However , years later , if excavated would earn millions as it would turn out to be a heritage site and the vintage value automatically props up the same place value .Ironical  isn't it?The "act of god" phenomenon and the insurance companies exploiting the innocent clients with "small text" and false advertisement propaganda are nicely exposed. The so called " fast unto death" and "footprints for 15000o rs under the pretext of GOD is a shame. The depiction of the lady "mata" bearing close resemblance to certain living individuals is very pronounced.Wish Ponty Chadda who produced this film, had realized its potential and truth earlier.

wat(er) power

Badly bruised plants, dried and shriveled in the summers, covered with icicles in winter and facing the brunt of the global warming all wake up to a small rain shower..What power. You sprinkle water into the lives of these plants and they glow as if you have used OLAY anti aging creams!!

God has made the human body with water as the major constituent.Water a plant, and it gets nourished. The natural resource is so valuable, that if we keep aside all the fast food nonsense and drink water a plenty, the human body, in my opinion would put all cosmetic companies out of business. The ancient scriptures and vedas do mention the importance of water. We are advised to drink at least 8 glasses every day and yet how difficult it is for us to learn from whats happening around us.The awareness in human beings, if it even goes up by 10% it would be a great value add to the quality of life.It is such a precious commodity that one day we will realize oil and crude will deplete and we can survive , but with no water.????

Please conserve, realize the importance of it and make it part of your every day routine.

customer ec(centric)

This word makes its rounds in all  markets , all industries across the globe and in fact has become synonymous with delight, happiness, revenue, profitability and retention at an optimal cost etc etc.How many of us really value that and have an approach that we passionately pursue?.

People have to keep things simple and just relate with the other soul and trust me its not a very high precision, hi tech job that has to be taught. It has to come from within.Common sense also needs to prevail and also be used at the appropriate times to ensure maximum success. You can win all battles but you surely would be remembered for having presented yourself ably and with a genuine intent to resolve any crisis or situation .Happiness, delight is also relative. The best is never there yet even if you were to have spent years in the industry. But the ability to diffuse a crisis, manage the smile on the face of an irate client is an art.It can be a masterpiece that will be better than a Michelangelo

The egos clash, BP  rise skyhigh, doctors do booming business and the world watches the fun at your expense.Sometimes people step out of such a battle as if it were coming out of Trafalgar or waterloo.Triumphant most of the time , but mentally hurt.Alternately physically hurt ,but mentally victorious.
What an achievement!!Great show.If we use some 10 seconds to take a deep breath and analyse the situation before we react and then take steps to set things on the right course , the situation would be entirely different.Getting angry and flashing your ego, flexing your muscles doesn't reach you anywhere.Infact deflating the others ego wins  you half the battle by simply acknowledging his views and doing things appropriate that make it logical and rational to explain.Once temperatures cool, world suddenly becomes a better place to live in.

Live another day, bring more delight.Hail Customers

When the bells toll

This happens once in a lifetime for most of us and a few are blessed not to have it at all. Some have more than once an opportunity to get married not having learnt from the first experience. This is awesome isn't it?

Just take an overview or should I say a sky view of the things that happen in a marriage. The frenzy, the chaos, the bizzare way of blowing money and sending it up in smoke, flowers and sweets and champagne, followed by Music et al..You would always find a close confidant of the bride ,running panic stricken for no reason, dressed to kill. The grooms pal on the other hand is digging for all the pranks possible that they can find to make his life hell. The kids on the block are dressed in the fanciest of clothes just for the day, and create stumbling blocks at times in the alleys and pathways which are flowing with people. The music may be from a shehnai to the latest numbers from Bollywood ,depending upon the mood one wants to create. The caterers start their bit and the aroma of various Indian spices, make their way through the nasal passages  of the people gathered that  they slowly drift towards the spread. The looks on the face of the people show if the sense of smell is deceptive or not.The photographers go blitzkrieg, and since rolls are outdated the digital formats and SD cards give them enough scope to keep exploring all angles. The gifts and bouquets collected can help the bridegroom to start their own florist shop in my opinion.

The traffic jam  one has to wade through to find a parking is the most discouraging entry point for any function. The relations and friends who exchange big smiles are bright enough to save camera flash some time. Some of us meet with that plastic smile pasted on their faces , hullo!!!How are you ?American Accent borrowed for that time with a Tamil or Gujarathi twang .Others start blabbering about their success stories of having their children abroad ( 90% usa, 5% canada, 5% UK).Little do they tell us , how lonely they are with no one besides them. Some parents are shocked when they get to know that their son has already married a "FIRANG"(GATEWAY to green cards et al).The current generation with confused and bored looks try to while away time on Iphones, and whatsup and are oblivious to the surrounding, till the monotony is broken.Wow what a function.................................

One helluva experience.........

god bless

Notice the people in most of the holy shrines, be it a temple, church, dargah, gurudwara and there are many similarities. The kind of people who throng due to the ever increasing stress and problems they accumulate for themselves as they love to complicate their lives and not keep it simple.Agreed, people have difficulties, as all of us have ,but the very fact that god has made you go through these trying times is for you to come out more stronger , more matured and more wiser from the same. The people coming there are from all strata of life and of various age groups.Children tag along , some because the parents force them, and some because they love to.The youngsters because the exams are round the corner and its a question of what next in life.Maybe they have a situation where love matters need to be confidentially addressed and solutions are sought in his abode.Rich and poor, enter the holy sanctum and search for loose change and soiled currency notes to offer as donations..!!! The very source of what we are is being offered the smallest change in return for all that he gives us.What a pity!!We human beings are so crooked and always negotiate with almighty, stating,if this happens , i will do that !!!Why all this 'want"and craving to acquire materialistic useless things that could be somebody else's when you are not there anymore to enjoy them.

The urgency to meet God is seen in the rush to stand in a queue, take a special ticket at a special price, cut corners and apply influence and political pressure to cut through the lines and serpentine queues.Even after reaching closest to him you still quickly do the actions from outside as if you are a trained "chimpanzee" and walk away. Why??God will meet you every where, anywhere and anytime provided you have a genuine intent to meet him as well.I have come across people who are so busy(doing what , I don't know) but will take the darshan from a distance and quickly whiz past completing the formalities. Some behave as if they are 'GOD"!!They will dress up and give all kinds of impressions to make one feel as if he is the ultimate.God save them and the gullible people who fall in these traps. The way people dress up when they visit a holy shrine, the body odours, the actions and display of "surrender" are fascinating indeed. The hurry and quick entry exit is even more fascinating.Eating the prasad is as if they never ate in their lives ever.Attending mobile phones in the premise is something I always fail to understand inspite of clear signages stating not to do so.

Washing your feet before you enter the premise is mandatory and yet people come in socks. Some take a wash as if they are having a bath and even clearing their throats there!!!!!!!!Ugh.How do people even not have that simple common sense ??The trustees behave as if they own "GOD"!!!God must be smiling down upon us to see the assorted specimens he has created and the chaos we create which is an experience for him as well, I presume.Sorry God for all these mishaps and wish I could be more tolerant as he is to accept this or try and change it and make the world a better place by striving to create awareness patiently..

Mindless journalism

We just got Kasav of  our back and the media which is scratching every layer of the universe to generate stories digs out and connects sarabjits case and his pardon to kasav.Kasav was caught red handed and has killed 166 plus people and injured 300 plus in the heart of Mumbai.Sarabhjit has no such mention even in an FIR and is kept in jail languishing  without a trail for donkey years!!!!!!!!!!!Why ignite and speak about something which could have been resolved at its own pace rather than filling new ideas in the minds of the neighbours and making things difficult for Sarabjit and his family!!!!!!!!!!

Absolute mindless Imust say.Balasaheb expired and must have not even spent a few hours in bliss when we have the media debating what next with Uddhav and Raj?who will take over?what are the political fall  outs???Give us a break .Let people settle in and then see what happens. Why trigger of controversies? One particular English newspaper goes hammer and tongs in Gujarat against Narendra Modi and what he didn;t achieve in 10 years.Mr. Editor, please write also what he achieved as well. What did congress achieve in 125 years??Biased reporting is sad and not the right thing in freedom of democracy. Some news channels also do the same.Even the clandestine operation of Kasav's execution ,that was so well guarded was analysed and made into a story line!!!!!! These same media guys expose our internal secrets and operation details even  the defence sector ,which is seen worldwide and we call  that breaking news.Whats the difference in an Ekta kapoor's soap opera and the news that we see.............sensationalize and drive the public nuts.

breaking dawn

Finally the long awaited verdict is announced after it was executed.Indian govt.Better late than never. What did it take.....Pranabda to take the Presidents office and take a call that the previous president slept over?Or was it the Dday that congress sees ahead with its back towards the wall the only way out is to push it through .4 years ,with just 5 days more for the anniversary of 26/11 we have the best wake up  call in years.

The moot point however is, is it too  late?We have sent a message but will if have any impact. The brainwashed terrorist anyway have come with jihad in mind and be ready for the so called sacrifice. Its just that if they get caught they can live another 4-5 years in India , with maximum security and the best biryani and then meet the fate in a few seconds. What they did however was ghastly and an act of cowardice. We need to give them back in the same coin and fast.

We must act fast and furious in these cases and after collecting the information required finish these people giving them a similar treatment. If we get afraid of loosing a government in the process we are dastards.Does that mean to say the citizen of India are not patriotic? In fact they will hail such decisions and bring back to power the same people who acted so bold and were decisive when it comes to execution.Hats of to Pranab da and the MOH for the exceptional execution and starting our day with a big smile.

Let not anyone dare to take on INDIA.

Balasaheb Thackeray-an Icon

Balasaheb Thackeray -A symbol of national pride, an Icon, whose sheer presence  would maintain discipline and bring about tremendous affection and love for the people of Mumbai and Maharashtra as a whole. The fiery speeches and the sheer persona created a face for Maharashtra and the people there felt safe and enjoyed the sense of calm and protective environment he created which other wise would have fallen in the wrong hands.,Mumbai is there  because of him.

From a cartoonist who shared space with the likes of RK Laxman and also maintained the poise and composure  that would send shivers through the stalwarts even on an Indian political platform. He had the personality that any youngster would love to follow. He was firm on his decisions, he had his views that were filled with passion and emotions and yet very rational cutting across political lines and keeping the nation ahead of dirty politics. His support for the Marathi people and the pride he took to see the rise of any Maharashtrian was phenomenal.I liked his decisions about Pranab Mukhrjee's candidature for the President of India, his composure when he backed the FDI decisions without politicizing it.Great statesman indeed.

I had the opportunity to visit' Matoshree' his residence and had an opportunity to meet him , Udhav and his son Aditya.Wonderful feeling and memories.I was representing a leading car brand, had to make a pitch to him and udhav and coax them to have one of these cars in their fleet. It was a privelege. It was the moment ,bigger than appearing for a final board exam. That day was even more memorable as there was a major announcement by a high court in which Balasaheb was to be a part of.The entire premises was a fortress.CRPF, Rapid action force, the police and in between we had to pass through these barricades and reach inside the heart of his abode.Removing my footwear and stepping into his house gave me an immense sense of pride and excitement. We were offered tea and snacks and I remember being a true Maharashtrian made a sales pitch in Marathi without the use of a single english word which actually comes to me more easily than my mother tongue ,especially the technical words.I have met many a politicians and film stars but nothing to beat the aura of Balasaheb Thackeray and Amitabh Bachchan.I gave udhav a test drive and it was a treat being escorted by black cat commandos in front and the rear and me sitting next to Udhav driving through the road of Bandra in a super premium brand.Wow.

I watched his last speech he gave on 24th October played on Times Now, and I was moved.I met him only once but the speech was very touching. It hit the very chord that stirred my emotions and I knew I am extremely touched, moved and sad at heart. Its a big loss to Mumbai, Maharashtra and India for sure.No doubts about it.His earnest appeal and his love for his people was felt in every word and his honest approach and request asking to support his son and grandson touched me the most.It will not be the same again for sure.Where Shivsena would move towards or how politics in Maharashtra would evolve is something to be seen.My dream would be Raj and Udhav joining hands and taking the political boat of Maharashtra through the rough waters to the calmer seas and keep sailing with its mast high and the flag flying with pride.

An epitome of strength, a fantastic cartoonist, and a rational person. His  absence  is going to be felt for sure in the years to come.He was a king maker and will always remain an Idol for many a shivsainiks and people from the current and next generations.

As a proud Maharashtrian and an Indian--I will miss him very much.I have tears in my eyes as i write this spontaneous post and  even though he is not related, i  not being remotely connected to shivsena, but somewhere I know that, this  void is too big to fill.Jai Maharashtra.Jai hind.Long live his legacy.

FESTIVAL OF PLIGHTS

Diwali...the festival of lights. But year on year mankind doesn't wish to learn and keeps on making it the festival of plights and deafening sounds. The decibels break all barriers and of course the speed of light is seen in the flashes across the skies. The looks that stun and please all eyes ends up bringing tears due to the smog and pollution it creates. What a sight indeed!!

The whole night yesterday the crackers were drowning the peace in the neighborhood and adding to that the smell of burnt powder and carbon made it impossible to sleep .The people must be really immune to the disturbance they create and the menace it causes to peace loving people.Do celebrate but in a controlled manner would be preferred, rather than the crores that go up in smoke in one night.People starve, loose their hard earned money as it happened in a fire that gutted all the firecracker stalls in Baroda, UP and Surat.People loose lives and a living due to callousness. The army, fire tenders working against their wishes on holidays are made to face the brunt at the end of it. Why don't we ban the crackers and make it a festival of lights by burning festive colorful candles and lighting up the spaces , distributing sweets and good wishes all over thus spreading the message of happiness and peace.

Lets join hands to spread this message and make it a peaceful yet healthy and enjoyable place to live in for us and the coming generations.

double speak

I happened to be interacting with a lot of youngsters and a few newly married ladies during my professional tenure who worked with me as my colleagues.During these interactions and free flowing discussions which we always encourage so as to bring in a healthy culture and trust between fellow members, i noticed ,that a lot of the female colleagues had aspirations,  dreams, energy and passion to do and show something in life and ever ready to take up new challenges. This was seen and accomplished on the professional  front ,but on the personal space it appeared that they faced mega challenges. The in-law syndromes and the pressures that she has to face on a daily basis, be it getting up at 0430 hrs to meet the daily deadlines and the whims and fancies of the in-laws and hubby.Little does anyone realize that the same lady is  also a human being and has to toil straight through at home and then at office and on the return to meet deadlines on all fronts.Agreed, she has a role cut for herself post marriage, but not that we cut her off from her desires, dreams, passion, and hobbies. Is that fair?

I have come across instances where the entire salary earned by the wife is immediately gobbled up by the hubby or the in laws into the so called family kitty,  leaving peanuts for the lady who earns to spend on her self.If she needs something what could be rightfully hers , its questioned so much that the charm of acquiring that is lost. Moreover something personal is very embarrassing to disclose to the in laws maybe and yet she has to undergo that month on month. When it came to giving her an incentive she pleads and says" can you please give that as a cash component, so that it doesn't reflect in my bank statement"!!!!If it would that would straight go to the common fund where she has no right to use..  In some cases people dont have the time or inclination to take the partner out for a honeymoon???????Too much work you see!!!!!The thought of spending some private moments , with the person one loves or is married to, irrespective of knowing each other before  marriage, this is the best time to know each other. What can one say.The frustrations are enormous. If the in  laws make it worse with the mama's boy syndrome then god save this family. The hubby on one side speaks about giving the freedom of expression and action to his spouse but on ground realities are poles apart. The male ego is the biggest hurdle in all such situations and must be busted or kept aside for a healthy life and future.

One has to give these couples a few liberties and help them set up their lives in the initial years. They have enough stress levels at work and if these are not the stress buster things what else can there be??

I have come across people seeking comfort and attention from others and who ever is willing to lend them a shoulder they lean on them so quickly that one could take undue advantage of such situations leading to unfortunate circumstances leading to early divorces. This is fast increasing and is alarming. The western culture rub offs, the ideas of freedom and the peer pressures are all leading to this dangerous debacle.

Good morning India

Headlines today:::::::::Child thrown of the third floor, rape of a Ten year old ,ATM looted, 15000 crore scam, student commits suicide.........................................what head lines????.Can any one expect a Good Morning  reading such articles on the front page of leading dailies and even more sensational news in the local newspapers.???

Is this what we we like to ruminate on for hours on Local and national Television?

What a shame on us!!!Don't we ever think  of positive energy and wake India up with exciting , good news and cover the rest in inner columns without hype and sensationalization.?Are we Indians, Jerks??Whats happening to the Indian minds? How can Humans stoop so low creating news by doing sadistic and gory deeds.Sick mentality indeed. We have warped minds and the so called orthodox and well preserved culture and heritage is thrown out of the window .

An entire family in viramgam Gujarat, has been looting and raping for years!!!!!!!A 10 months old child of Indian origin in  the US is killed to settle a personal  feud?????? Where are we heading towards?

Saddening indeed....................have no words to express the state of mind I am in looking at  my fellow Indians, who are behind this. The end of the world is in sight earlier because of these sick minds rather than doomsday 2012.

ponder point

As you cruise on in life and days whiz past, do we ever realise that we need that single pause to introspect and do some course corrections, take a deep breath, maybe connect with our own true self?It is rare and we miss out so much actually because of that single pause , which we sometimes refuse to take, knowingly.

I think its very important to take that momentary check and consider it as a toll gate of your life to look within.Never look back as you can never change what has taken place, but surely before you step forward introspect for sure .Is this the best way to approach life? Are we really adding value to this  life and to the near and dear ones around us.?What is our contribution to this world? How much have we really lived life?Do we make good use of every moment in life? How much we laze around and spend time on stupid things like a soap on TV .How much of burnout we cause in pursuit of Materialistic happiness. How we in the search of the adventures in life mess up the values and cultures many a times. The rat race, the "enjoyment" as it is termed in pub hopping and keeping"company".Loading ourselves with unhealthy foods and then spending millions to burn it off!!What logic?Stressing yourself out to earn money to earn more money by investing into right and wrong things and then worry about those investments and returns and thus causing health issues which need money to resolve.....phew!!!A full circle almost..

Do we get time to enjoy the nature, its beauty, the innocence of a child, the true love of your pet,the reality around you that is the truth. We live in a world of make belief. Its Mayajal!!Its a vortex that you get sucked into deeper every moment.Stand at the brim and before you take the plunge , ponder over for a moment, which side you want to jump.In it or out of it.

O M G

What a phrase!!Used by us so many times!!!Its a fashion phrase nowadays... and has turned out to be a movie too.....Spare god please.

We mostly see , people using various phrases and statements  like" I am god fearing",and OMG for example.I wonder , why bring in god there every time?I don't understand when god is within you , why fear god in the first place? He is always there to help you, then why fear?Out of sheer fear , you fast on a specific day, you walk in the reverse, you feel restless not having visited a place of worship on a specific day etc etc. Why?Fast for hygiene, and health and not for religious reasons or pleasing god.If your thoughts are clean and heart pure god never asked you to fast and prove something to him.We are always wanting something from him and therefore for our own selfish interest bring this out under the garb of fast etc etc.Do this , so that will happen is always with an intent to get back more and more.Till we keep wanting , our minds and heart will never be calm and pure and till such time we will keep fearing god, thinking that we will make some mistake and offend him .Give up those wants and see the mental peace and happiness you get.God loves you always and will always be with you irrespective. No conditions , attached. The question is ,'Are you ready to receive him? Are you aware of his presence?Practice those small fundamentals laid down by him in life and the phrase OMG will disappear.God is there within.

opposition

Taking positions is a norm in the world.A pole position or otherwise, in terms of views , a race, a statement or what ever.

In Indian politics however they are a bunch of muddled self centered, low IQ,selfish blokes who just know how to create OPPOSITION.Instead of taking a position, sticking  to it and offering concrete solutions, they end up on the streets, burning the public's money. The PM states " Money doesn't grow on trees"......we all know that Mr.MMS.Nothing new, because if it grew no one could have cared a damn for the diesel petrol price hike , or interest rates.India would  have been a far eco-friendly country with money plants all over and Jairam Ramesh a happy man.The moot point Mr.MMS is that " where is all that money that we payed as taxes'??????We slogged to get that!

Did you stash it away?Did you  send the MP's and Ministers on foreign merry making jaunts?Did you under the pretext of giving minority and reservations priorities go and squander the money without utilizing it properly? Why are you evading the root cause ?what happened in 1991 is history!!!If you knew all this why were you a dummy so  long? One must give you a strong lesson in image consulting and body language first before you face the nation. The opposition is also a bunch of goons who are running here and there with zero agenda and no solution in sight. The sad part being the nation is  being torn to bits, the industry likes it because they manipulate the share markets and swing it at will and make  their millions. It doesn't bother them if the investors really make money or not. What a game!!!We actually run on the momentum we have gathered and are in a rudderless airplane with no airport to land.

God save this place................

W--Syndrome

What does an individual do in a life time?Struggle!!Why? Dilema.......what to do and what not to do?What is right and what is wrong?Where to go and where not to go?Why and why not?which and which not ?So in short so many "w's" that lead to the big 'W" worry!!!!!

When we start worrying we come to a point where we don't know why we are worrying? If we don't worry what would happen?Honestly , if we do dwell upon this thought for even one complete minute , we will know how much of precious time we waste(again starts with W).We wish (W)for x,y,zee and then worry what if the wish doesn;t come true?If it does, we say what if it comes true?We are such a muddled lot ,aren't we?
What is the point in getting caught in the web( again W) and wondering( again W) what hit us???

Don't whine, whimper ,weep, or waver.Don't keep wanting always. If its your's , you will get it. Never be a victim in life.

So the W's that make life a better place to live are:

Work-With your heart and soul full of passion what ever you do ,small or big.

Will--Have the will to power the initiative you take so much so that it becomes a source of inexhaustible energy/driving force .

Wake up to new ideas and keep being creative rather than doing the run of the mill kind of work that one does every day.

walk the talk---Do what you believe in and demonstrate by the actions on the floor, in your day to day life.

war heads---Use the right ammunition to create the right spaces you need and do sniper shooting to get more bang for the buck.

Watch --- and be alert, be aware and act.Don't react.Life needs smart people and not those who do the "HARD" work only.We need "SMART'work.Use the watch to check your time as it doesn't come back.Your time is now and so be it.Your time , is your time.

Wave---be the wave in the ocean that can move and create a tidal wave of giant proportions that can be harnessed for energy creation and not destruction.Be the wave of change.Change is constant.

Way---be the guiding light and way for all others and lead them from the front.Create new avenues and places where people fear to tread.

Lets hope this makes sense  for  many and add  value if any.

life post

One should never look back  in life.Keep moving ahead. Its true . I sense, however, if we share a few learnings with everyone and in turn learn a few more as we go along , it would be useful to the present generation in making their life possibly a bit simpler and livelier.

Here are a few tips to ponder.Keep them or discard them , choice is yours. You have one life and many choices. But choose, wisely and don't squander it.

Life is short -----enjoy every moment.

when in doubt, just take the next small step.

Pay your credit card bills every month.

Save for your retirement from your first paycheck. No one tells you that.

Don't compare your life with others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

If a relationship is secret, you should't be in it.

Get rid of things that are not useful. They become a drag and excess baggage slows you down.

Be eccentric.Don't wait to wear purple till you grow old.

Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

Don't audit life.Just show up and make the most of it.

Your children get one childhood.Let them experience it to the utmost.

envy is a waste of time.Accept what you have and not what you need.

Life is a gift , even if its not wrapped in a bow.

The faster we share , the more we get.Don't wait till 90 years to share this. You never know what surprises life has in store for you.

Try to remain detached from sentiments and emotions. They bring you down hard. Its difficult , but try to practise, life becomes a bit simpler.

modi watch

Mr.Modi, our CM of Gujarat and his dynamism need not be penned down as all of us are aware of what he is and how capable he can be when it comes to driving the growth engine.I don't belong to any political party but certainly admire this gentleman and the phenomenal tech savvy nature and presence of mind.

However it seems in the run up to the elections, the opposition seems to be getting the better of him and the media as well all set to push him into a corner. Its good not to react or give an outburst, but  to give impressions that are not MODI like is a little odd.Sachin is  getting bowled due to age, lack of form , extra achievement burden etc etc and so it seems Mr.Modi following the same footsteps.Taking things for granted or sticking on a pitch thinking you can go on for ever without corrections is wrong.

I am so confident that Mr.Modi will come out with flying colours ,but he will have to work smart and hard to really turn it around and its gonna require enormous efforts.RSS, Nitish, Congress, BJP fallouts, and many more critics are just waiting in the wings for that one fatal move. They know nobody can take Modi's place and I pray that we don't have another Congress Govt messing up Gujarat as well.A quick delivery by a bowler that knocks the bails off or send your stumps rattling happens in split seconds. The preparations require years to face such situations.Mr.Modi you have tons of that.

Mr.Modi...........don't let down your guard. You need solid strong , intelligent backup as well. Please mentor and coach people under you who could eventually take on your mantle rather than a bunch of goons spoiling it for petty gains.Thebright  future is in your hands or else there will be an eclipse..

sense and sensibilities

We wait for the rains and keep cribbing if it doesn't arrive as it increases the humidity and sends the temperatures soaring at times. And when they come they wash out these thought and gives a smile on everyones face. The economy is suppose to boom, the farmers happy for their crops, inflation may come down, etc etc.But the not so sensible Indians as we are most of us,suddenly seem to be in grip of frenzy.PARANOIA in capital spreads like wild fire and people start scampering home and run as if the world is on fire or a pack of Hyenas are out to get them. The way they throw caution to the winds and make a dash on 2,3 and 4 wheels is simply sickening.

I saw this again in Baroda yesterday where a downpour for an hour plus created havoc , jamming all roads for over 3 hours. Why?Sheer indiscipline, hurry, and impatience .The pedestrians struggle to wade through the streets and the senseless car fellas simply splash water all over them and drive across, oblivious of the fact that they messed up some pedestrians trying to make their way through the muck. The 2 wheelers, climb all over you and the footpaths as well are not left alone till they brush against a few cars and care a damn about it as they know they can skirt away before the guy in the car  even realises it and has no  space tostep out in the downpour. The most atrocious part being breaking all the so called traffic rules and entering any gap they see visible thus blocking every possible route instead of allowing a few vehicles at a time to pass so that the traffic atleast moves. The FM stations blare and keep stating the rains are so welcome and every car is trying to get home and its so beautiful out there.Wish the RJ could be doing the same in the OB van in the midst of the mess and then call it "beautiful".

The Municipal corporation and traffic wardens sensing this create more chaos by just diverting the traffic with no signages as to where one should go if the situation is choco block at the place where you intend to go.The VMC opens upthe manholes and should you dare to  take the vehicle from  the extreme sides you might end up in the sewer and come out in the river or the Arabian Sea who knows. When will good common sense dawn upon us?For years we do the same.Teach our children what to do and what not and yet practice this when it comes to us!!5 kms and 3 hours of enormous wastage of fuel and precious time of thousands of people.Hornky tonk and decibels are at the maximum again.God save this country.

Life-Term deposits

Live your life at your own terms , for your self. Its seen very often that we live life to please someone else.Maybe your own family, your friends, loved ones etc etc and end up sacrificing so much that when you age you wonder what did i get?.I could have done this and that but......? Its not easy to live a life for others without caring for yourself.God gave you one life.Live it to your hearts content.Do good for others without expecting those returns.Don't ever regret.Do something, make a mistake, never mind but don't repeat  the same.Learn from  them.Your experience is your own unique experience and it cannot be compared with anybody else's.See the difference then.

We see people who want to impress others and showoff materialistic things, even when they don't have the strength to do so.Why? To create the false visuals and window dressings to glamorize your life, which on the inside is a coal pit. Why not step out like  a miner and show the ability to discover the hidden diamond in that mine and make the coal "black gold".We own nothing in life. Its a false notion and it may or may not stay with us.Be your own natural self, eat, drink , sleep healthy and stay fit to do good for yourself and thereby the world. If you are happy , you can make the world happy. If you do good for others ,it gives you back much more than you can even imagine. This may not necessarily be in terms of materialistic value, but in terms of social bonding, respect, love and happiness. It cannot be  measured. This however is a great achievement than the superficial show that we put up and demonstrate how desperate we are to prove to the world that i need all these aids to help me justify to the world what a good human being I am.

So set your self a goal to live life at your terms and be genuine to yourself and others.Trust me you will enjoy every moment in your life .......................no regrets.

nostalgia

How important is it to roll back the clock and go back into the past and refresh the memories that you have spent with the best friends who have been part of so many golden moments in your life.Starting from school , Junior college, Graduation, post graduation and then life.for 35 long years , me and my 5 friends have been closely knit and inspite of being  geographically distanced, we are in touch .2 in the USA, 1 in the Gulf, 2 in West India and myself. Our families grew and the children grew up and we kept meeting in small groups and always dreamt of meeting as one whole family with the gen next as well.Lots of plans were made and locations identified but somehow the timing and the place just didn't suit till last week.Providence was kind enough to ensure that the time was right and the things just fell in place like a jigsaw puzzle. The dates of arrival into India for my friends travelling all across happen to coincide and we sensed this opportunity to ensure that we must make this moment of truth happen.

The whole machinery was put into high gear and the wheels started to roll. The excitement grew and small bits and pieces were organized to ensure smooth sailing.A beautiful bungalow was rented on a small hill station on the outskirts , in the midst of lush green foliage, moisture laden clouds brushing through our hair and kissing the cheeks, the crisp freshness in the air and the environment was also ready to greet us.The food , the accompaniments , the fuel for consumption by cars and us was organized  taking into consideration the likes and dislikes of each member. The most  important being the younger lot who would be curious somewhat and also not be knowing what to expect when we meet after a long gap.The better halves were kept into the loop and the day and time set.

It actually began to happen and slowly we saw the arrival of familiar and unfamiliar faces emerging. The faces litup, the smiles spread across each and every face ,reduced the requirement of a flash from the camera. They strolled and hugged each other and we went ballistic and bonkers.Addressing the same way as we met during the school and college days.We had a dress code to come in Tees  and  3/4th's and we had hired a school bus intentionally to remind us of those dreadful days going to school with the homework not done. But here we had our homework done. The salt and pepper haired heads, bobbing one behind the other, followed closely by the evergreen better halves who just refuse to grow old. Then the kids who a few almost touched 180cms high and dwarfed many of us.The time we spent together and we took of on all those moments we always knew but couldn't get a chance to share it in a forum like this was actually happening. The roars of laughter almost split through the window panes and rocked the earth to create a tremor of sorts. The story went on till we lost track of time and realized only when the stomach started rumbling.

Food time and we walked across to a lovely buffet spread and gorged on the food defying all health norms prescribed to some of us.It was fun time and it must rock.Took us back down memory lane in the college canteen and the ways and means used to impress our friends of the fairer sex etc etc.

What a gathering. How valuable these moments are in this hectic  life.We have achieved , each one of us "success" in varying degrees but all of us were so happy , forgetting all these daily grinds and immersing in NOSTALGIA.Wish these days don't fade and we could meet more in the years to come with our grandchildren probably.Who knows whats in store?

hornky-Tonk

We in India love communicating.Even if it were senseless. We love to make small direct ,clean talk complicated by being indecisive. We love to speak at decibels that are sometimes injurious to health as per world health standards, which includes the person doing so. It becomes such a habit that we tend to talk even while driving, parking the car, reversing, or just plain waiting in a traffic jam.No! I am not saying with one another in the same car, but talking to different people ahead of you ,.behind you, next to you and the residents in the neighborhood all at the same time.Phew!!!!!But we are Indians, and we have to be different.

Look at the chaos we create honking the eardrums off every time we drive out.If the car or vehicle ahead of us slows down we honk.If he takes time to take off the traffic light when it turns green, or for that matter even amber we honk. How impatient we all are!!! Where in the world are we going to get an Olympic medal for reaching anywhere? We don't even get it at the Olympics, forget the same back home. The parents coming to drop off the kids to school show the same level of impatience, honk the living daylights of the people around and in a no horn zone at times, thus creating an "ideal' behavior for gen next to follow.

When will we ever learn? What is that adrenaline rush that takes place by honking? It satiates the ego of every individual owning a car , just to prove my car horn is louder than your?Is it that we vent out our frustrations from home and work in the car and the poor horn designed by the auto manufacturers bears the brunt. While one reverses, they love those patriotic or raunchy numbers blaring all the time  that the reverse gear is engaged.Commonsense says, disengage when you take a quick backup and are in position. But , we are so oblivious to the surrounding chaos that we care a damn. Some wild guys love to "proudly state they own an AIR HORN,what ever that means and blow the eardrums of the whales 50000 leagues below the ocean. Please use those gray cells given by god , think for others as well and stop being HORN(Y).

creative fodder

What makes a person to think out of the box?Does he need to do yoga, eat almonds all day long or be on a therapy that oils, greases and sharpens his brain like no one else?

I come cross people on FB who are so witty , creative and can go to any limit in terms of wackiness. They to come from more or less similar backgrounds.Yet , when its comes to creative thinking at work, they draw a blank. Is it intentional, lack of spirit, just non existent in that space. What could it be?

Simple thoughts, a vision is very crucial, looking beyond the blinds is a must, thinking the impossible, aiming at the moon etc could be the solution.Does it require a huge amount of mental stress??Can it strike anybody if he/she just focus on the topic and tries to create a net that weaves in with the ideas and intertwines to capture the essence. It is important to brainstorm, look at the vision stepping into someone elses shoes, making a product talk to you, awareness of the surroundings and its impact on the same, willingness to change, try out new ideas and dare .We get so locked into a grind daily that we don't spend even 5 minutes in creative space.

If every one tries to do that daily and devote 5 minutes for looking at something which you do daily and apply creativity , you will find fantastic ideas coming to your mind which never occurred before.Create a new world and make it exciting every day.You would love it.However small it may be, its your creativity.keep creating.

masterchef-blunder

I follow the Australian Master chef episodes on TV and was pretty fascinated by the way it is conducted and executed.I was happy till I noticed the respect the chefs have for food under the pretext of perfection.

The participants are to dish out the texture, the taste the crunch and the freshness and all  that Jazz, agreed but the in case the quality is even a bit out of specifications they simply dump it in the garbage cans. This is atrocious.I know there is plenty of food in Australia and inspite of a drought like condition where the water table is fast depleting they don't bother about water as they have enough beer, but please don't waste food.

They could feed plenty of Indians and African origin people who need basic sustenance. The show was in a five star hotel kitchen in Sydney, catering to upmarket clientele who are finicky about the way the meat is cooked or the color and taste and all that jazz.Crisp bacon a bit over crisp could feed a few needy people in Australia too,The so called undercooked potato fritters/or hash browns need not be dumped if the color ranges from yellow to golden brown to dark brown or the oil content is bit more.

The bottom line is , don't waste precious resources when you preach the world about conservation and wastage.

harakiri

I had an encounter with the medical fraternity in my Town where I had to visit for 7 days to keep an update with a patient who was hospitalized.Being a near and dear one one tries to ensure we look at the basic aspects of hygiene and cleanliness as well as peace in terms of a good surrounding that keeps the moral of the patient high.I was lucky to have found that and was pleased to note that it actually existed in such places like hospitals.Process centric workplace as it appeared and that really put a smile on my face and made me relax a bit till I went beyond the window dressing.

And Lo!The truth revealed. All that glitters is not gold. When you noticed that the support staff that takes instructions from the main doctors were very casual about the way they issued instructions down the line. The sense of urgency was missing.Maybe they are so used to this day in day out that the urgency simply disappears.I don't blame them entirely but then the Hypocritic oath that they take or even the passion and empathy they are suppose to exhibit is lacking. The sisters were found to be amateurs and were under training.Training at the expense of my loved one???If the so called staff under training asks me "should I give the antibiotic now??or is the insulin dose correct??How to fill asthalin in the nebulizer? Is the saline injected properly in the vein and how does one tackle the patient with empathy especially when the oxygen tubes are to be inserted etc.The sheer display of amateur behavior at a point where one needs assurance and confidence makes you go ballistic. How on earth can one be so careless?Aren't you playing with ones life? What proof do I have if a single error is fatal? How do you counter any instructions given by this fraternity ?Then comes the support staff which are non technical-The ward boys.Made to work for 24 hours ( double shifts) leading to lack of concentration and intent to really assist the patient and the speed or urgency of meeting the requirements missing makes you wonder ,why you pay so much to get such Substandard services. What a mess?If you bring this to the notice of the administration, the patient will have to face the consequences.!There are many good people as well, i don't deny but the presence of such novices in critical care experimenting on human lives is unacceptable.

How can one ensure that they are adequately trained to handle patients who need critical care?Who monitors them? What about an error taking place?Do they have proper mentors who are accountable?Do they give enough confidence to the patient before they experiment? Many questions.....awaiting answers!!

satyameva jayate---jaise the

This program has caught the attention and fancy of many an audience in India and they are talking about it.Yes Amir has done an excellent job of spreading awareness about various topics prevailing for years in India.

The moot point is .Do we have the heart and will to fight this?Is awareness not there? Are we so blind that we don't see this happening daily? Are we so dumb that we cannot visualize this ?Are we so stupid not to realise the cause and effects of such things happening in our society? The Indian mentality is such that we like to see such sensational stuff on TV, like to gossip for hours may be even have an intellectual debate and then go doing the same things that are prevalent. We are so insensitive that we just care a damn.It doesn't matter if the gen next gets affected.Only if this generation takes things up to save their future will things change. But the young generations hands are so full of things to achieve and create and impress the society at large that they concentrate only on the frills and forget the basics. They don't seem to have anytime for this .Now what?Who takes care?Anna Hazare-Department of corruption, Baba Ramdev-Health and political affairs,Aamir Khan-Department of Social welfare and Mass entertainment,Medha patkar-Dept of never ending irrigation projects .The public at large will keep adding eyeballs and money will be raked in by these departments .All fasts, protests, jail bharo andolans will attract footfalls and media blitzkrieg thus helping amul butter and MDH masalas to sell more.Wow!!!This is how our economy grows and it doesn't matter therefore if petrol prices shoot through the roof.A few murmurs here and there and then life continues. This is the same way people will yap, yap and then life will continue.Aamir got his share of the profits, media attention, and can be rest assured of his next movie being a huge commercial success. He met the PM and the CM and they promised him the world or gave him the "assurance" of things will be "taken care ".God save this place.

rendevouz

To find true friends in this world is really difficult and if you do find them being true friends for life is something very few people are blessed with in my opinion.

These could be from childhood and then last  all the way through to the next generations as well connecting in this network. This friendship  could be starting mid way in your college or professional career and then last you through marriage etc.The person who you can share your heart and soul, bare your thoughts and intentions, cry your heart out and expose that vulnerable moment which your ego might not allow you to do so otherwise. They may be present across the globe and may be connecting virtually today more than the physical presence. This is true but the genuine feeling for each other and the relations nurtured over the years being through thick and thin, is the real essence. However successful each one might be , based on bookish definitions or the social standings which are nothing but hollow and warped, one must never forget the respect and regard for each other without  a sense of dominance or submission present in any of their transparent interactions. The levelheadedness, the maturity, the behavior patterns keep changing with circumstances, but without underestimating anyone and acknowledging his presence one must adapt and adjust to the circumstances especially when one has the opportunity to reunite after years.Coming from places around the world, with their kids in tow,it is such an awesome feeling to spend even a day ,breaking away from your routine just to bask in that joy.

Imagine if any of these members suddenly behave uptite and erratic and tries to make a simple thing look complex and assuming a role of dominance in the itinerary planned or meetings to take place without regard to the others!!You get a sense of anger, frustration, desperation, and also throttled  effect as you have so many plans and exciting options in front of you yet small trivial issues are created .leading to a situation that is quite uncalled for..You remember all the good old days where you had your share of fights etc but today with so many years behind and an opportunity of a lifetime to meet everyone with kids and all is being ruined because of one irrational being. What must you do?Drop him like a Hot potato from the gathering??Compromise the times and schedules of 20 plus people for him??Or slam him for being irrational and driving sense into his head to be more reasonable and consider others around him as well.AAH! how I hate this??

Bloated Egos, especially when the parents of this friend of ours express this so often to us when we meet them, citing instances of tough times they face today .Its hard to digest that people can change and harden up due to false notions or beliefs that make them feel superior to other mankind. On the other hand we have such a gem of a person very Humble and down to earth for years in this same group.Amazing.He is ready to flex and align as much as  a fresh rubber plant twig. That too is an extreme I agree but under the circumstances is aggression right, or passive and assertive behavior required. For me , its time to take the pin and deflate those eggheads and show them the ground realities where we use to share the same cup of tea as we were unable to afford individual cups .Blow the living daylights and get everyone on the table with no exception.

rising stars

We see a lot of reality shows and especially those that target the "youngsters",the budding rising stars etc.Is that really a right way to promote these young minds? They have talent no doubt. Some of them are exceptional,The entire world watches them.Great.The dance choreography done by the kids and expressions given for raunchy numbers etc must be effecting the young minds somewhere. They are not mature enough to handle these situations and may effect them in many ways. The parents push or encourage them at times, sometimes go overboard with their child and what that leads to is over expectations or failures and rejections that might get deep rooted in their minds. This is at a time when his mind is growing and developing and once certain fixed ideas are set they may be a positive effect but many negatives for sure.Success may be difficult to handle, parents may take all the earnings and make the child think that he is being deprived of what is logically his .The innocence may get lost and bring about other emotions and psychological disturbances that might ruin his life. Will he be able to lead a normal life should he not grow  into an adult megastar when he has success at a young age? Academics may be his last priority?Money sets up other vices and they become difficult to control. The odd shooting hours deprives them of sleep and many other things that they must enjoy as a child.

Are we pushing our next generations too much? Are we creating excess pressure on them and an artificial environment that makes them over competitive at a young age?It may definitely inculcate a good quality in terms of being competitive , but to what extent?Do we counsel them professionally to make them realize the pro's and con's of the lifestyle?

No doubt the exposure today through the web and TV is phenomenal and that its difficult to restrict content. However the repercussions  may not be visualized now and may impact the gen next..Sex, criminal mind, jealousy, would start dominating in an already pressure cooked world.Too many things too fast may hit a dead end and fast. Its like professional burnout at the start of a career.Early disappointments, a cruel world, quick money and easy way out to spend and get into bad debts with no money management skills may be the resultant.Fast cars, fast women, fast life, travel, 24x7 Work culture and exhaustion. That leads to steroids, drugs, cigarettes, booze, and coffee to keep you going that leads to high doctor bills ,medications , etc that is the start of the end of the so called good days.

High alert required in my opinion.Exercise caution and take a stock of the situation before we push the envelope.

withering heights

Old age .The phase where anxieties are on the rise.Every day is a bonus.Different perspectives and way of viewing at life starts taking place in the minds of the people. One can look at the balance life with a positive frame of mind and relinquish the excess baggage of so many years.Alternately, one continues to drag his or her feet with that burden of unwanted baggage and keep paying for it as you trudge along the last lap.

We may  have had a rich past and a flamboyant life style and now you are at such a juncture that the aches and pains don't allow you to keep pace with that and they creak and squeak depending on the degree of flamboyance you may have exhibited in your hey days. The Mercedes Benz may not be as comfortable on the long journey as it used to be because of a delicate back or a cervical issue. The five star food may not be palatable any longer as diabetes and BP are happily enjoying   their stay in your structural abode.Popping medicines by the dozens may be part and parcel of routine life. The use of artificial equipment to support your walk of life may be an integral part of your life style now, than the golf kit in the good old days.Dependency on one and all may be reality and the inability to do things the way you would have liked to is a dream almost.A pain here and an ache there, a swelling here or palpitation that sets your heart aflutter. We have no choice but to live through that phase as its destined.

I believe if we are relieved from  this faster and at an appropriate time without being a burden of any sorts on our loved ones ,it would be so nice for self and others. But based on your karma each one is associated with the other either as the doer or receiver who goes through, willingly or otherwise and experiences his journey of life. The difference being the wealthy may spend their last minutes in swanky hospitals in special suites  and blow their money anyway to ultimately meet at heavens doors ,whereas the poor may languish in pain and yet take the same train to heaven.

What happens to those assets, liquid cash, bonds, deposits, shares etc ????Now you see me , now you don't!!!How long we had  held it in possession expecting it to deliver the top returns predicted.Just yesterday they were to jump up many folds and deliver a bonus but...........would we be there tomorrow to enjoy the fruits???The bunglows, the cars, the jewellery, etc etc..............all in vain. The 20 days of travelling and 18hrs of work you put in every day for 25 years all seem to vanish in a second. We read in the books by great authors, live every moment and rather die once than die every day etc etc.At times its nice if we wake up from the dream world we live in and realise the purpose of life.Rather than loosing your prime time to fragile attractions, if we devote it to living our fullest in what gives us a sense of contentment and accomplishment of having achieved a small but useful thing in life that made each day better for you or somebody else in this world.Accept gracefully what  comes your way and live and let live.Let realization dawn on humanity and make the world a better place that God wanted to see probably.

Indian Angina

Frustrations an Indian has been experiencing daily ,chaos and 560 odd spineless politicians battling it out to decide the first Citizen of the country and changing colours like a chameleon and demonstrating indecisiveness that embarrasses even a schoolboy. We the people of India watch this on television as BREAKING NEWS rather than breaking them.  Dada's and Didi's,ensuring their future whilst jeopardizing that of the country. What a mess?Industrial growth in a spin, sensex having an orgasm at the whim and fancies of a handful of lust driven scoundrels, and that too at the expense of the hard earned money of millions.Experts yapping on TV shows and grabbing prime time assuring every Indian not to loose hope when his backyard is full and millions are starving .Record wheat production followed by tons of wheat rotting without proper cover??A dummy sitting at the helm with an expressionless face and signing up papers in Mexico and USA is not going to solve these critical issues.A land of  opportunist, no loyalty, no sincerity,no clarity of thoughts just a muddy picture(dirty picture would be more apt) where a cabaret of sorts takes place on the Indian landscapes, where the intelligent and illiterate audiences watch in awe and then state"chalta hai"..lets move on.what a shame.?How I detest this.Don't we have any solution to this?1.2 billion strong , only on paper??Face book and google where so much good and idiotic sentiments get shared, can we not build up a campaign.when will we Indians really learn to give back?Only in movies like Dabbang and Rowdy Rathores???

human value

During my recent travels I was in Austria(Vienna) to be precise and its pretty much usual to hear police sirens wailing as we are accustomed in the Hollywood flicks. It not only adds value to the background score but also shows the extent the essential services being active.I happen to witness one such situation and the surprise being that, a horse buggy had some issues and the animal needed some attention, not the human being.Bang came the red and blue lights flashing in a jiffy, with a fire brigade and Ambulance in toe.Awesome response time and more importantly the value they give to animals and human life in general. We can always state that yes the population is low and that the ratio of number of personnel catering to public is much better than in India and the infrastructure etc etc.The fact remains that our Attitude and the way we look at life or treat our fellow citizens is amiss. If an accident happens on the roads in India, and the victims need medical attention, there will be 100 bystanders gaping but may be a handful trying to find a way to the hospital even if it were to take them in an Auto .Would you give your car?We would first think of the police and inquiries etc, the procedural parts and hassles at the hospital and cop station right? The supreme court has issued a directive stating that any person who brings in an accident case has to be attended to immediately and the one who brings him in is to be released immediately without drawing him into a procedural tussle.Yet we don't care.Having said that imagine the value of animal life???????How many of us have tried to help an animal in distress??Is a question of one too many that we don't value these? We love to stand and gape,we love to rumor and gossip but never lend a genuine helping hand to the needy. The spirit of Mumbai is also because it cannot afford to stop.People just don't rest.Any obstacles have to be removed or resolved and hence this is visible. In cases of national emergencies we unite. In other cases we are at loggerheads.Even if you happen to collide with people most of us don't even have the decency to apologize, then how does one expect to be participative in bigger deeds.

2012-3-4--------AND COUNTING

The countdown .....has it started? Is the clock ticking??How accurate is Nostradamus?
Check out your calenders and see from January 2012 till date, have you noticed strange phenomenon around your place of work, casualties.setbacks and disasters , be it in the personal or professional space?I am a very optimistic person at heart but the things happening around my professional and personal space , especially relating to human lifespan, is really numbing. One seems to hear some sad news or the other from unexpected quarters and it sets you thinking .Do we need to check the predictions of a disastrous 2012?I wouldn't say end of the world, but certainly, 3 months have whizzed past and taken away a lot of souls equally fast. Are these the trends?

9.2 richter quakes that shakes the continents and spans across Countries creating tsunami scares across 28 nations???That followed by a similar quake across mexico and US? We must respect nature and take a serious note about such situations .Think and act quick. One never knows when its TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spice of life

The show must go on and therefore , each of us is in the struggle mode, surviving. I guess before birth we kick in the womb , probably wond...
