ga ga about what

lady gaga.......what on earth does she symbolize?
The weird looks and outfits and the way the paparazzi breathe down her neck and covering up every word she says is astounding.
In the Indian context how does she add value?
What does she emote or teach?Where does it take our youngsters towards?Do they really need these icons??
F1, followed by Metallica and then the ga ga to wrap up the biggest event of the day is this what is the trend that's gonna be seen as we move ahead.I think we can do anything stupid and crazy to be in the limelight....be it our own version of Ra Sa( rakhee sawant) and her antics and now Ga ga....................I would like to understand from the so called fans ,as to what makes them go Ga ga over such characters?
Atrocious dress sense, vampire looks, and talk about Indian women and their eyebrows ......sad really sad.
People wearing dresses made of Octopus and sea weeds??????????????????????In Vogue may i say??????God save this place and drive sense in people especially the gen next.

F1 fever

5.1 kms, 16 turns and the screeching tyres of the F1 cars burning fuel and rubber in Noida at the Buddh circuit is something which India has achieved in a long long time. Its come a long way and hope this takes India into a different league with the likes of Schumacher and Button, rubbing shoulders with Tendulkar and the Bollywood glitterati.
What i only wonder is who is going to pay the Millions required to maintain this circuits and prevent them from being vandalized,or misused and not let them rot as was the case during the Asian games infrastructure. We have the CWG and now F1 all happening steadily moving towards hosting the Olympics eventually.Let that not be a reason for the hungry politicos to weave another scam and mess things up.
India is on the fast track and makes you feel proud to be an Indian.

dig.....vijay. . . . dig

The congress party General secy for 10 years( no promotions!!!), CM of madhya pradesh for 10 years and the distorted sound box or should I say His masters voice is Mr.Diggi.He keeps digging and unearthing things as if he is sitting on them and at periodic intervals keeps shooting his mouth of in all wrong directions and making a mockery of the political system as well as a movement called Team Anna.If every one starts digging up history so many skeletons will tumble out.But if if look within and try to clean up the mess made by his so called "brother" Kalmadi and his CWG scams just to name one, he has a lot more constructive things to do than create a media hype about all small issues that are irrelevant in the relative hypocrisy and corruption taking place. The Raja and 2G scam is another big one.
The congress party seems to be using him as diversionary tactics and the public gets fooled. This is like buying time to think and prepare a defense to the multiple scams they are embroiled in.People of India Wake up, we need a clean and corruption free environment and if we dont have any person who can stake a claim at that then select the best amongst the worst .If not get presidential Rule or Military rule for a few years to set things right.Hopefully it might set a new course.Good or bad ....time will tell.
Atleast we don't have buffoons like him talking crap every day and trying to create a mess of the already chaotic situation.KEEP DIGGING DIGGY ONE DAY YOU WILL FALL INTO THE PIT YOU HAVE DUG..............

back gear

I came across this modest person who owns a garage and repairs automobiles.he stepped out of a small suzuki 800cc car and introduced himself.splashed all over his car were the sentences"guiness books of world record to be broken",driving 40000kms in reverse gear on the roads of india .this record was created quite a few years ago and is now going to be attempted by him in february 2012.he has been practising for days and i had the previlege to move with him in reverse gears for just a few kms and i froze.the ability to maintain pace, accuracy, safety and the traffic is an art.the sheer patience and resolve shown by him is commendable.
He is looking out for sponsors and hope the auto enthusiast and the industry support him.
Wishing him all the very best and god bless.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

Every Diwali the Indians go berserk. Its festive time and the Cities are lit up with beautiful sparkling light bulbs adorning the buildings , trees and every nook and corner almost. The traditional clay lamps are lit with the oil and wick and they set the horizons of each building wall. The whole atmosphere is charged and people look forward to make sweetmeats at home and nowadays tend to buy a lot of goodies , be it electronics, clothing, accessories and whole lot of gift wrapped packages to distribute to friends and families.
This however gets disturbed by the deafening boom of crackers and the senseless pollution it causes at all odd hours .People burst noisy crackers in residential areas which resonate so bad that the ear screens would shatter. This needs to be curbed so as to preserve the environment and also to save the sheer waste of money that could feed hundreds of families that gets blown up in smoke in a few minutes by way of crackers. The litter it creates is a nuisance for the sweepers who come the next morning to clean up the premise. The animals are petrified and go into a burrow. The Dogs hide below the cots and the birds disappear. The leftover carcass of the burnt crackers find their way in the tires of cars running over it creating good business opportunity for puncture repair units.Imagine a rocket screeching its way into your house and landing up in the midst of a get together at your house? It happens.
People are definitely changing but the pace is still not there. It needs to be done on a war footing and that would help India conserve the environmental balance. The winter is just setting in and that makes it worse as the Haze created in too bad for the lungs and the traffic in general.
Hope everyone across the world has a great Diwali that brings in prosperity, happiness and peace to one and all.

U-KNOW

Ever seen the interviews on TV of our cricketers and the dumb questions asked many a times by our sport journalist or enthusiast you may call. The answers that follow have a certain word that gets oft repeated............take a guess???? Do you know??no....u-know??
Ahh!! that is the word or phrase may I say.

The way the questions go for example: how do you feel now that you have won the series?
Answer: Well (you know)......duh!! do I know and if i knew why am I asking you in the first place would or should be my immediate reaction, right. But we continue with the answer and it flows somewhat this way....( well the boys played well and you know, the bowlers did their job and bhajji you know bowled to a plan. You know we will take one match at a time and you know that its not about revenge but we want to win all the matches in this series you know......................

Yes by now I know what a dumb guy I am asking questions for answers which i am already suppose to know.................

And this is telecast 15 times on 20 channels and the people you know simply love it......you know....No??? Hmmmmm!!! Then you better know .You want to be an excellent Indian cricketer you must KNOW-----U-KNOW.

I -squeeze

We in India have a very nasty habit in trying to fit into which ever space we find empty, vacant, irrespective of the inconvenience it may cause to thousand others. This is seen in our behavior while walking , driving, etc. The best part is the degree of impatience shown as if the world was coming to an end and that if you don't squeeze through its the D-day for you.
I was driving down the city road recently and the road ahead was narrowed down to a single lane due to some Municipal corporation road works.( That the detour signs etc don't exist is a different issue all together and even if they did ,using them appropriately is another one)seeing the traffic ahead slowing down you tend to keep the lane that is moving. This is the start of the catastrophe.Every Indian on the road wants to get into that slot at the same time and they HONK your ears of with deafening decibels of musical horns. Then come the 2 wheelers who given a chance would get on to the pavement, or the median and clamber across, the cars big and small pushing their nose in to sniff of the piddly 2 wheelers or smaller cars and shove them out .The net resultant a big standstill.
Now comes the best part, all the guys see the long queue and a few enthusiastic guys step out of their cars (no one else is in it) walk across to see what happened?
Others keep their Ac and music on and start using cellphones to make the most of the opportunity. The remaining are trying to weave a net around this mess by making way through any gap visible or even to the extent of going on to the wrong side.
In case in this chaos you do tend to scrape against another vehicle you might end up in a brawl that adds to the mess( irrespective of whether you are right or wrong) or else get a sheepish grin or smile without a sorry which is very rare.
To get out of your vehicle and start a fight is the single most popular sport that exists in India. If it means holding up a highway too!!!!
The COPS Where are they at such times? Well!!! You would possibly see him lost in this whole mess or blowing his whistle at everybody or anybody who might listen to him.If he is traffic volunteer then .............God bless!!!!!!Batons don't exist and for any cop vehicle to get there is a miracle unless airdropped:))

media intoxication

When a sportsperson starts doing well the media will shout at the top of its voice, telecast many hours of praise through the day and then drop him like a hot potato when the time is against him.
This leads to messing up the budding youngsters career and probably his stint with stardom. These young guns e.g Virat Kohli may or may not be matured enough to take those heaps of praise at one go and end up loosing focus on his bread and butter. If one or 2 seasons performance is equated with 20 years of a maestros career and comparisons start making the rounds that he would be the next sachin tendulkar, aren't we too early to make such comments? Why not just let him be encouraged to play on and be compared against his own stats year on year rather than compare with legends.
Journos please help create the right consistent spirit rather than the sudden doses of adrenaline and chloroforms.

creative suicide

While i do agree that advertising is the plank to promote and sell or market products,i do however have apprehensions about the way the messages percolate down to the youth in particular.Off late you see the creative juices of admen running wild be it the axe effect chocolate man,or the seductress in aamsutra the gray cells jog in the minds of this genre so wild that it leads to stirring up the carefully preserved tradition and values held in Indian families and end up discarding them for these wild ideas. The teenagers making a mockery of their elders,or showing high degree of smartness that tips the scales to being over smart many a times, projecting kids aged 7-10 years talking about swapping boyfriends etc.One needs to exercise some element of caution here .I am not against intelligent creativity but the message and tones especially when it is targeting the youth using the kids as a medium need to be monitored.

Wildstone, axe effect, flipkart etc do have undesirable effects on the minds of the masses. There can be better ways to get more eyeballs without arousing the sensuality.Bharat Dabholkar and Amul have intelligent take on such matters, and I am confident our creative geniuses can nail them.

D-day

When disasters strike they come in Tons which i would term as wholesale.
Look at the state of JAPAN and its because of the sheer resilience and will to fight back with a calm mind that the Japanese have been successful to overcome that. But what if these disasters strike one behind the other and in a systematic manner?I wonder if the fault line that shook japan and caused the cascading effect to shatter the nuke plants and thereafter the aftershocks and those that reached New Zealand and Indonesia causing Tsunamis and quakes that have a high Richter scale. This means the earth is being put under pressure and we are not willing to learn from that .Had Nostradamus been there he would be delighted to see his predictions coming true in some form or the other. The north and south poles melting , the reefs being destroyed with Oil spills , floods hitting China and India, typhoons hitting the USA, extreme weather conditions across continents.....is this the beginning of the end?
I just came across a news articles stating the car plants in Thailand are under floods, the Suzuki plant in India is under strike,US car markets in recession, and to top it the interest rates skyrocketing, the economy looking bleak, the growth rates stuttering where are we heading to?????
The best of economist and the astute politicians have no answer for sure. All they can say is that the gray matter of theirs is indicating the following response and all is well in the next 6 months!!!!!Who has seen this?Had anyone been able to predict all these calamities????
Lets introspect and do our bit to save this beautiful world so that the next gen can enjoy.

silvercrests

Had a good look into the mirror and noticed the signs!!!No, I am not talking about M.Night shymlans movie but the silver lining dotting around by head.I simply am enjoying it.Its a good transition from the flicks of yester years to the balding forehead and silver lining around the nape.Gives a false sense of maturity:))
I am probably one of those few guys waiting to turn 50 and have a sense of meeting a milestone in life. Its been a long trudge.Maybe comparable with an A380 airbus aircraft flying full load from Sydney to LA.

what I look forward to is all the Bonus points that are in store for me that i can possibly enjoy every day and living a full life with "NO REGRETS'.

Set the compass of life in the direction of almighty and keep moving ahead.I would like to do a lot in terms of training and coaching and lending a helping hand to the younger lot.I would if I could maybe write a book as was suggested to me by my friends and colleagues.Keep the heart young and let your creative juices flow to experience the mystical magical world of God and live every moment.I am trying to smile at everything that happens.Do all the things that please myself and make the world around you smile.I am confident of making that happen and I cannot wait to turn 50.Wow what a journey?

God speed

Years ago in 1993 I met my Guru , my guide, who actually is the anchor to my life post my dad's demise , I remember the day sitting in front of him with the adrenaline rushing through my system and wanting to accomplish every feat possible in this world.I sat there asking him stupid questions like " when will I own my own car ? and when will I go to the USA and when will I have my own home ?and he kept smiling at me.I wondered as to what was behind that smile? He calmly said, look I can see it happen at the right time,What is yours and written on your forehead is yours and no one can take it away from you.But if you keep jumping up and down and wanting things to happen in a jiffy then it will not be so.Also if you gonna sit there waiting for things to happen it also doesn't take place. He said , be focussed, have faith in one thing but so strong and unflinching that you never doubt the outcome. He said you have 4 racing tracks to choose from out of the 8 which i will tell you.You can select any that will take you to that goal. However each of those will have its pitfalls and you will have to go through it!!Are you ready?
That became my turning point.I did start believing my self and had so much faith in my guru Shankar Maharaj who took me through a series of short and long trips but trust me took me to this juncture where I have a sense of accomplishment, contentment and believe me all my goals achieved. It was some times miraculous in nature to think of something and that would become true.
I found myself connecting with my roots and aligning with people, relatives and friends who were and are the true and genuine ones.I don't like to socialize to show the world what I am, but spend time with my family and near and dear ones who accept me for what i am, as I am.Not for the materialistic side but the humane side.
Of late I noticed I can connect with animals!!True this may sound weird to a lot of you but I have ample evidence and occasions that can prove it.But as i said I don't have to prove it .Birds, squirrels, dogs, cows, camels and horses all of them at different locations and different point of time connect and converse.Wish I could help them more.My guru had said that as you move up on the spiritual ladder you will experience all kinds of intuitive behavior.Trust me this happens and I can assure you that it actually is in every human being. Its a question of harnessing it.If you sharpen the saw and step closer to the almighty with infinite faith , you will observe this phenomena.Your awareness increases around you.The freaky behavior and the immatured quest for being someone in life will automatically settle down.
I am an engineer and could have become a Doctor as i had the option of being one based on my academics.I moved to sales and marketing inspite of spending time working on lathes and assembling IC engines.I lived in small cities away from my family trying to build up a future for them for more than half of my life .I dreamt of all the things stated above and actually they started materializing 3-4 years from the time I met my guru.I went for pooja early morning at 0330 hrs every Sunday when the world use to party till the wee hours and paid my respects to my guru for 11 years .He made me calm and focused and taught me so much that eventually I had everything I wanted in life for me and my family .He also taught me the most important thing in life" how to draw a line". If you end up in a rat race trying to prove you are superman with wealth oozing out from every part of your body, you will realize that it has drained you out so much that you don't have the health to enjoy it anymore. Why then do we all stray like lost cattle?
I felt like sharing this with you all as it may help you .I don't claim to be anyone but would like to share my experiences for sure.I managed to meet the best of people , stayed in the best of places worldwide, traveled physically half the globe, and almost 3/4th of it by virtue of these blogs, and also modeled for a product with hoardings screaming loud at every nook and corner, starred on TV live as well as appeared in news columns and interviews.Had the opportunity to meet the President of India in his own house and spent a good 45 minutes with him. This is what was many time more than I ever asked for.It came and it happened.I owe every bit of it to my Guru and my parents who helped me become the person I am today.Feet on the ground and head on your shoulder you can carry any burden you ever face in life.My world today is me and my family.

ozzie masterchef

I have been watching this series Australia's Master chef on TV and its quite an interesting concept .It keeps you guessing and watching the contestants giving their maximum to survive the challenge and go to the next level.
I have also been to this country and traveled the east coast and came across good people in general. However when it comes to giving footage or exposure on TV shows it appears to me that the Asian origin contestants do get a raw deal. While the process is going on they almost never get a chance to express themselves and even if they are qualifying for the next stage they seldom get a chance to speak about their colleagues or their own dish they are preparing etc.It always the fair skin that gets prominence though a large diaspora that supports that economy is of Asian origin.
Is the racists element true then? There are definite shades for sure and keep emerging in bits and pieces which in my opinion must be squashed. The entire episode is very interesting and shouldn't get a blot because of any racists issues.

Gujarati roulette

When one spins and sees the white dice jumping the slots its the roulette.imagine a spiced up lady in a colorful backless attire spinning at a very rapid pace ,swinging to the tunes of Gujarari garba songs in the Navratras. Its the Gujarati roulette.
One sees all the flavors that capture the attention of every eyeball in the arena and the hips swaying ,hairstyles swinging, the Ghagras(skirts)swaying with the beats is a treat to watch. For some its boring steps that take place for hours and drag whereas it may be the most exciting moments in their lives for others.
The otherwise conservative society is going berserk and ends up late nights early mornings with their partners. This is on the rise due to the western rub off but ends up being a health hazard to the young girls in particular who loose their carefully preserved honor.
If the same society were to share and educate their young ones growing up and not create a taboo then these incidents don't happen. The escapades under the guise of a Garba would reduce and would focus more on the traditions and culture of Gujarat.

Spice of life

The show must go on and therefore , each of us is in the struggle mode, surviving. I guess before birth we kick in the womb , probably wond...
