What a concoction and an e-rage that has caught everyone's imagination. It only goes to show that a few "vella"guys hanging around and humming a tune end up coming with something that makes everyone situp and listen.
Is it the sheer stupidity of the lyrics? Is it the way the current generation is able to associate itself and its thoughts with the rhythm or the situation of the song?
Is it the Tamil pronunciations of 'black(a) ,white(a)" that attracts the gray cells?
Whatever be the reason this song is doing wonders and makes you hum for sure.No doubt the real composers and lyricist get annoyed that they have to put in hours to make a song whereas these bunch of guys come and go like a gale. One thing for sure the hinglish element, the stupid lyrics like"mein zandu balm hui darling tere liye" become a rage with the current lot and its only going to get worse.Gone are the days where one had sensible lyrics that remain evergreen.
So there is an opportunity knocking at all doors ,don't wait but pick up any damn vessel in the Kitchen, collect a bunch of lazy, idle friends or neighbors who have nothing much to do and make a noise----that could win you the next Grammy award who knows?

The success of this song has obviously nothing to do with its lyrical and musical "qualities". It's just very aggressive marketing and money-power. What you are is far less important than what you are associated with.
ReplyDeleteMoney power may not be the reason for the song going viral. More clicks lead to more clicks. I think the current generation loves what connects to them.
