Life-Term deposits

Live your life at your own terms , for your self. Its seen very often that we live life to please someone else.Maybe your own family, your friends, loved ones etc etc and end up sacrificing so much that when you age you wonder what did i get?.I could have done this and that but......? Its not easy to live a life for others without caring for yourself.God gave you one life.Live it to your hearts content.Do good for others without expecting those returns.Don't ever regret.Do something, make a mistake, never mind but don't repeat  the same.Learn from  them.Your experience is your own unique experience and it cannot be compared with anybody else's.See the difference then.

We see people who want to impress others and showoff materialistic things, even when they don't have the strength to do so.Why? To create the false visuals and window dressings to glamorize your life, which on the inside is a coal pit. Why not step out like  a miner and show the ability to discover the hidden diamond in that mine and make the coal "black gold".We own nothing in life. Its a false notion and it may or may not stay with us.Be your own natural self, eat, drink , sleep healthy and stay fit to do good for yourself and thereby the world. If you are happy , you can make the world happy. If you do good for others ,it gives you back much more than you can even imagine. This may not necessarily be in terms of materialistic value, but in terms of social bonding, respect, love and happiness. It cannot be  measured. This however is a great achievement than the superficial show that we put up and demonstrate how desperate we are to prove to the world that i need all these aids to help me justify to the world what a good human being I am.

So set your self a goal to live life at your terms and be genuine to yourself and others.Trust me you will enjoy every moment in your life .......................no regrets.

nostalgia

How important is it to roll back the clock and go back into the past and refresh the memories that you have spent with the best friends who have been part of so many golden moments in your life.Starting from school , Junior college, Graduation, post graduation and then life.for 35 long years , me and my 5 friends have been closely knit and inspite of being  geographically distanced, we are in touch .2 in the USA, 1 in the Gulf, 2 in West India and myself. Our families grew and the children grew up and we kept meeting in small groups and always dreamt of meeting as one whole family with the gen next as well.Lots of plans were made and locations identified but somehow the timing and the place just didn't suit till last week.Providence was kind enough to ensure that the time was right and the things just fell in place like a jigsaw puzzle. The dates of arrival into India for my friends travelling all across happen to coincide and we sensed this opportunity to ensure that we must make this moment of truth happen.

The whole machinery was put into high gear and the wheels started to roll. The excitement grew and small bits and pieces were organized to ensure smooth sailing.A beautiful bungalow was rented on a small hill station on the outskirts , in the midst of lush green foliage, moisture laden clouds brushing through our hair and kissing the cheeks, the crisp freshness in the air and the environment was also ready to greet us.The food , the accompaniments , the fuel for consumption by cars and us was organized  taking into consideration the likes and dislikes of each member. The most  important being the younger lot who would be curious somewhat and also not be knowing what to expect when we meet after a long gap.The better halves were kept into the loop and the day and time set.

It actually began to happen and slowly we saw the arrival of familiar and unfamiliar faces emerging. The faces litup, the smiles spread across each and every face ,reduced the requirement of a flash from the camera. They strolled and hugged each other and we went ballistic and bonkers.Addressing the same way as we met during the school and college days.We had a dress code to come in Tees  and  3/4th's and we had hired a school bus intentionally to remind us of those dreadful days going to school with the homework not done. But here we had our homework done. The salt and pepper haired heads, bobbing one behind the other, followed closely by the evergreen better halves who just refuse to grow old. Then the kids who a few almost touched 180cms high and dwarfed many of us.The time we spent together and we took of on all those moments we always knew but couldn't get a chance to share it in a forum like this was actually happening. The roars of laughter almost split through the window panes and rocked the earth to create a tremor of sorts. The story went on till we lost track of time and realized only when the stomach started rumbling.

Food time and we walked across to a lovely buffet spread and gorged on the food defying all health norms prescribed to some of us.It was fun time and it must rock.Took us back down memory lane in the college canteen and the ways and means used to impress our friends of the fairer sex etc etc.

What a gathering. How valuable these moments are in this hectic  life.We have achieved , each one of us "success" in varying degrees but all of us were so happy , forgetting all these daily grinds and immersing in NOSTALGIA.Wish these days don't fade and we could meet more in the years to come with our grandchildren probably.Who knows whats in store?

hornky-Tonk

We in India love communicating.Even if it were senseless. We love to make small direct ,clean talk complicated by being indecisive. We love to speak at decibels that are sometimes injurious to health as per world health standards, which includes the person doing so. It becomes such a habit that we tend to talk even while driving, parking the car, reversing, or just plain waiting in a traffic jam.No! I am not saying with one another in the same car, but talking to different people ahead of you ,.behind you, next to you and the residents in the neighborhood all at the same time.Phew!!!!!But we are Indians, and we have to be different.

Look at the chaos we create honking the eardrums off every time we drive out.If the car or vehicle ahead of us slows down we honk.If he takes time to take off the traffic light when it turns green, or for that matter even amber we honk. How impatient we all are!!! Where in the world are we going to get an Olympic medal for reaching anywhere? We don't even get it at the Olympics, forget the same back home. The parents coming to drop off the kids to school show the same level of impatience, honk the living daylights of the people around and in a no horn zone at times, thus creating an "ideal' behavior for gen next to follow.

When will we ever learn? What is that adrenaline rush that takes place by honking? It satiates the ego of every individual owning a car , just to prove my car horn is louder than your?Is it that we vent out our frustrations from home and work in the car and the poor horn designed by the auto manufacturers bears the brunt. While one reverses, they love those patriotic or raunchy numbers blaring all the time  that the reverse gear is engaged.Commonsense says, disengage when you take a quick backup and are in position. But , we are so oblivious to the surrounding chaos that we care a damn. Some wild guys love to "proudly state they own an AIR HORN,what ever that means and blow the eardrums of the whales 50000 leagues below the ocean. Please use those gray cells given by god , think for others as well and stop being HORN(Y).

creative fodder

What makes a person to think out of the box?Does he need to do yoga, eat almonds all day long or be on a therapy that oils, greases and sharpens his brain like no one else?

I come cross people on FB who are so witty , creative and can go to any limit in terms of wackiness. They to come from more or less similar backgrounds.Yet , when its comes to creative thinking at work, they draw a blank. Is it intentional, lack of spirit, just non existent in that space. What could it be?

Simple thoughts, a vision is very crucial, looking beyond the blinds is a must, thinking the impossible, aiming at the moon etc could be the solution.Does it require a huge amount of mental stress??Can it strike anybody if he/she just focus on the topic and tries to create a net that weaves in with the ideas and intertwines to capture the essence. It is important to brainstorm, look at the vision stepping into someone elses shoes, making a product talk to you, awareness of the surroundings and its impact on the same, willingness to change, try out new ideas and dare .We get so locked into a grind daily that we don't spend even 5 minutes in creative space.

If every one tries to do that daily and devote 5 minutes for looking at something which you do daily and apply creativity , you will find fantastic ideas coming to your mind which never occurred before.Create a new world and make it exciting every day.You would love it.However small it may be, its your creativity.keep creating.

masterchef-blunder

I follow the Australian Master chef episodes on TV and was pretty fascinated by the way it is conducted and executed.I was happy till I noticed the respect the chefs have for food under the pretext of perfection.

The participants are to dish out the texture, the taste the crunch and the freshness and all  that Jazz, agreed but the in case the quality is even a bit out of specifications they simply dump it in the garbage cans. This is atrocious.I know there is plenty of food in Australia and inspite of a drought like condition where the water table is fast depleting they don't bother about water as they have enough beer, but please don't waste food.

They could feed plenty of Indians and African origin people who need basic sustenance. The show was in a five star hotel kitchen in Sydney, catering to upmarket clientele who are finicky about the way the meat is cooked or the color and taste and all that jazz.Crisp bacon a bit over crisp could feed a few needy people in Australia too,The so called undercooked potato fritters/or hash browns need not be dumped if the color ranges from yellow to golden brown to dark brown or the oil content is bit more.

The bottom line is , don't waste precious resources when you preach the world about conservation and wastage.

Spice of life

The show must go on and therefore , each of us is in the struggle mode, surviving. I guess before birth we kick in the womb , probably wond...
