charmingly disarming

Indian TV and print have to focus on the superficial aspects of politics and make it good enough fodder for the "CATTLE CLASS" as specified by one of our ex-Ministers.The latest visit of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS minister of Pakistan Ms.Hina Rabbani Khar on an official visit to India when covered in print and TV appeared as if Maddona or Britney spears is on a visit. The lifestyle glares worn by her, the fashion sense and the leather purse that tagged along with her was more news than the substance and critical matters that stand unresolved for almost half a century. Her resemblance to Benazir and those drop dead Diana looks were gaining importance than the visit itself.is Pak now using lady luck and charms to disarm the ageing foreign ministry of India? Is it why the Kashmiri separatist groups were keen on shaking hands with her? What a waste of time and definitely lack of seriousness in the whole process.Even the joint press briefing by the 2 secretaries post the meeting appeared more bemused answering the funny questions by the press.Red roses for Advani....valentine Day i presume .Good going---it appears to be the Pak TV version of" entertainment ke liye kuch bhi karega"Have fun.

  1. That's the problem with good looks ! No one takes your work seriously. Check out what happened to Anna Kournikova. We had to remind ourselves that she played tennis too.

  2. It's the media which requires it's fodder to ruminate 24 hrs of the day. I am seriously of the view that the regime of fixed viewing hours could perhaps improve the quality of coverage on the T.V.None seemed to bothered about Pak Foreign Minister's meet with separatists before she met her Indian counterpart.Wrong emphasis on wrong things at wrong times-- This is our media.
