W W 3

Live India TV showed a classic documentary on the World War 2 and the entire story as it unfolded. The actual real life scenes and the gory deaths and mass destruction with millions of innocent civilians, brave soldiers sacrificed. The property and money that must have been destroyed was phenomenal. The inflated ambitions and the egos that prevailed , the propaganda and the brave hearts who fought for global peace irrespective of the land they fought on or the country they served. The freezing cold, the desperate attempt to save themselves and their children digging trenches, fighting the cruel winds and snowfall were heartbreaking sights. The carpet bombing ,the turkey shoots ,the Kamikaze Japanese pilots sinking ships left , right and center making the ocean into a graveyard were simply disturbing yet a straight lesson for those who watched it.The nail in the coffin was Hiroshima and Nagasaki that destructed mankind for generations and the tremors are felt till date.It also showed that there were witty, brave and smart commanders who took up the tasks and executed them to near perfection. The results were devastating but showed that a man if he decides to pursue something can make the word impossible redundant in the dictionary. The engineering prowess Germany had in terms of communication, transportation, ships and U boats, Volkswagen and rail connectivity, and the battle tanks were fabulous innovations and did make a large difference in the battles that were fought. It again demonstrated the fact that USA which has a habit of interfering with most nations for their personal gains don't situp till provoked. For the first 2 years of WW2 they didn't blink an eyelid as the war was not fought on their soil and it didn't matter how many people were massacred as they were not Americans. Then came pearl Harbor and that spurred them up to step into the mother of all battles.Same was repeated when the twin towers were attacked only then the attack against Osama really sharpened.Till then it was all proxywar and on terrains like Af-Pak where it doesn't really matter.Japan and Germany demonstrated how a completely flattened and destroyed nation can come back to life and learn the lessons and rebuild a great nation. They were the first to put a stop to the nuclear arms race post the Japanese nuclear facility disaster recently.Yet we keep building weapons and nukes capable of carrying payloads and destructing the world at a touch of a button .What will we achieve? Here too we can show our technology prowess but for progress and not destruction.Hope we don't trigger any situation that leads to a WW3 because the destruction potential is million times great and the egos and stress levels of our leaders are stretched to the seams that can be hazardous.Have a look at this documentary its worth it.

casper the friendly ghost

One reads stories, hears rumors, and some actually experience it.This is my real time encounter with "Casper".I was working late due to month end commitments to ensure we have achieved our sales targets for cars and in the frantic pace me and three colleagues of mine were sitting back late in the evening allotting the cars ready for dispatch. It started to drizzle and even got colder. We had our last truck to leave and due to the rains we had to help the truckers to align the truck and load the cars so that there is no slippage or any untoward incident happening.Me and my colleague had driving licenses and also knew which cars need to be routed out of the stockyard. One spot light was all that we had in the dark stock yard and we were rearranging the car sequence so as to get the 6 cars we wanted. With a Torch and a bunch of car keys we started walking towards the cars. While my colleague moved the first cars i was was waiting to move the next.Suddenly i realized that 1 particular car hazard lamps blinked twice.I looked deep inside and asked people on phone if anybody was in that car. There was no one.I asked if anyone was having the keys to that car and they were safely locked in the closet as those cars were not to be removed.I ignored it thinking its probably a stray incident. We started moving the other cars and after having removed them and loaded we stood outside the yard and i kept mentioning this incident to my friends who were with me.Bingo the car hazard lights blinked twice again. This was strange. We just got the creeps and walked away to my office. The wall clock in my office had stalled. The time was precisely when we had first seen the blinks.Believe it or not but when we investigated the next day and found out from the security guard who use to use the watch tower made of wood. He said" at times his whole watch tower shakes" and that is because we had a cemetery just adjoining to the wall of our premise. This gives you an encounter with a friendly spirit who was all up for fun but gave me memories that still has hair standing up when I pen down this blogpost.A few days later it happened to a motorbike kept in the parking lot and that confirmed the story that we had the presence of indirect workforce who were "spirited enough" and boosted our"pulse rate" that made us perform "faster' resulting in faster dispatches much before the evening hours:)).Casper the friendly ghost ,god bless. This happened in 2001 a decade back almost.I also understand that when a spirit comes your way the clock stops working first. How far this is true needs to be checked. It is recommended to therefore wear a watch and sleep when you stay in a new unknown place .

K.A.R.Z

Saw the movie Zindagi na milegi dobara.Good well laid out clean entertainment and logic and emotions bundled up well. Not bad Farhan.Make the best of what you have and enjoy this moment and not wait until tomorrow .Spain is beautiful and capturing the age old traditions was a different take than the Dabbangs.I guess if people like Zoya and Farhan are able to think and relate to the new generation issues and make such sensible movies with a message it would do good than the *###@* words used in the other sick movies that float around.Capturing the moments underwater, in the sky and on land across the countryside are awesome. You actually throw out the fear in your mind and wouldn't mind taking a chance anytime in the future should an opportunity come across your way, right?

charmingly disarming

Indian TV and print have to focus on the superficial aspects of politics and make it good enough fodder for the "CATTLE CLASS" as specified by one of our ex-Ministers.The latest visit of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS minister of Pakistan Ms.Hina Rabbani Khar on an official visit to India when covered in print and TV appeared as if Maddona or Britney spears is on a visit. The lifestyle glares worn by her, the fashion sense and the leather purse that tagged along with her was more news than the substance and critical matters that stand unresolved for almost half a century. Her resemblance to Benazir and those drop dead Diana looks were gaining importance than the visit itself.is Pak now using lady luck and charms to disarm the ageing foreign ministry of India? Is it why the Kashmiri separatist groups were keen on shaking hands with her? What a waste of time and definitely lack of seriousness in the whole process.Even the joint press briefing by the 2 secretaries post the meeting appeared more bemused answering the funny questions by the press.Red roses for Advani....valentine Day i presume .Good going---it appears to be the Pak TV version of" entertainment ke liye kuch bhi karega"Have fun.

Indian Anchor

Open the News papers or the TV--THE HEADLINES SCREAM ----scam, Cong and Bjp at loggerheads, x accuses y, z to resign ,Diggy makes an absurd immature comment( he is paid to do so 3 times a week), what the hell is happening to these people??TV channel big debates some ISI link, some seminars, pro and anti kashmir debates and funds generated by xyz.Do we have anybody or any BODY that can govern India in a better way?We have the finest CEO and businessmen, some of the best brains in the world but a brainless political system that fails to deliver time and again.Increase in repo rates, higher inflation, lower GDP, higher auto and Home loans where are we heading towards? Is there even a small ray of hope?Yes gold glitters at 24000 rs,and silver weighs on you @58000 Rs a Kg.Open the local channels and we have the daylight robbery, murder, rape, land grabbing, mafia and extortion and last to top the list TERRORIST.Politicos spending crores on statues, army personnel in coffin scams and land scams, sportsmen in steroid scams, the bitchy film stars, the life long rivalry of the underworld, journalist shot, children in the bore wells(army at work to rescue for 72 hrs plus),IT department raiding film stars and finding peanuts from 25 properties!!!!!sensex rises, and falls at the whims and fancies of people who control the remote.Sex is on the rise always.Air India in the dumps, govt bailing out through the tax payers money, kingfisher doesn't have money to pay the fuel companies,India losing the cricket match( world No.1) at stake,Sachin doesn't get a 100, food prices Spiraling , fuel prices going through the roof, and I wonder why should one even think of a positive start to any day in India. We all are diehard optimist at that and hence "I still love my India".Here is where the FDI take place , here is where 1.2 billion reside, here is where we have a tradition and culture that dates back centuries, here is a place where we can boast of a snow capped Kashmir to Oceanic depths of Kanya kumari and the deserts of Rajasthan to the jungles of North East.Amongst the urban jungles we have real life tigers and lions, elephants and mosquitoes.SO MANY THINGS HAPPENING AND YET WE STILL CHUG ALONG LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER DAY.Dead sure no other country has this spirit.

kalmesia

I have heard about temporary amnesia. Some have selective amnesia and some like Mr.Kalmadi seem to have kalmesia.Politicos have innovative ways to get things done their way.Ask immunity, ask permission to attend parliament from the Jail, attend FREE high class medical care( all India institute if medical sciences) which seems to suddenly erupt when they are caught by the cops and a non bailable warrant is issued. He is given access to internet , has a cup of coffee with the jailor( who got transferred to the Andaman). It reminds me of the TV show coffee with Karan. They are so brazenly flouting all rules, creating mother of all scams (CWG)with the prestige of the nation on the block and then want to go scott free with an excuse that " he doesn't remember conveniently. So govt now will spend money on him to figure out how and why he doesn't remember and the story will drag on till one fine day we all develop an amnesia called "Kalmesia" which means "who Kalmadi????this may happen in the year 2020 when we will have the TV channels breaking news" Kalmadi acquitted!!!!and our next generation to occupied to even think of Kalmadi. What a shame!!No doubt the Raja's, the Laloo's, the Telgi's have such a whale of a time inside or outside the prison.Going to the jail is an essential part of the resume of a Politico it seems.

delhi (belly) navel or.......

Don't let your pervert mind be influenced by this title but that is what it would do to a common man when he starts pouting all the choicest of foul expletives and that in turn starts warping his thinking and doing similar things in the real world. Why??
We have such movies like Lagan which have a purpose, captivating and excellent in terms of acting, dialogues and screenplay. How does this movie be made by Aamir of all people exhibit crude, humor.Gosh so much of filth and sickening screen shots. This is a teaser and instigator,a film that digs out those dirty mindset and make us imagine if this is that belly of Delhi or the +++++.Warped minds indeed and they are warping the minds of the new generation as well.Counting the crores they earned and comparing it viz Buddah hoga tera baap where you have Amitabh coming out with a decent BEEP beep act is atrocious. Pelvic thrust and shit flying all over in the movie deserves a re look by the censor board and penalize the entire unit behind it.Where is that class AAMIR??Is it that you ruin Imran's image and trying your luck in demonstrating the frustrations your mind holds making him a guinea pig?

singham

Bollywood always has its histrionics and we keep getting tons of them every week at times. After the Dabbang UP style entertainment it was Singham from Goa and Maharashtra I think Rohit Shetty has captured reality and the situations the cops have to go through that pushes them to the brink. In my last post copped out i did mention about the same real life scene and wish that every citizen becomes as bold as the town shown in the movie. The politicians( well portrayed by the character in the film) really need a whip at times for not resolving but polluting the" unity in diversity" of INDIA.Of course the Ajay Devgan physique and his brash style of knocking of cars and using Scorpio's may not be the whole truth in real life but if we stand behind the honest cops and give a fitting reply to the system we I am sure can make India a better place. Good to see a shift towards the western side of India as most movies related to atrocities and corruption come from UP and Bihar. The best p[art being no Chamelis, Jalebibai and sheilas to divert the mind.Rohit good going please do add value to educate the public of India what we need to be apart from the GOLMAAL.The Delhi Belly crap with foul language and sickening scenes that make you wonder are these kind of films necessary??That to from intelligent people like Aamir khan and the so called over intellectual critics that give such movies a 4 star ratings in the print medium.Wonder where their gray cells go grazing at times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NORWEGIAN SHUDDER

The blast that shook Norway after World war 2 is a sad and unfortunate incident. These thing however are so common in our part of the world that what the people of Norway would have experienced is what we go through every day probably. What I am trying to drive at is these criminal elements who need no reason to create panic and destroy lives of innocent people are spreading their tentacles across the globe.Till date the global community use to support or neglect the cause selectively based on bilateral relations but when they go through such an incident then they take things seriously.US took up the drive against terror seriously when the twin towers were attacked and were successful in hitting back and sending a strong message across the globe.Wish all other countries could use that clout and exercise such actions. If india has to do such a thing .....(when would that day ever come???) it would go down in history as the strongest action ever taken. But I am sure that it will be our resolve to nip this cancer in the bud and wipe these elements of the face of the earth.

rising stars

its good to see talent and youngsters showcasing amazing prowess in many fields at a very young age. Thanks to the opportunity provided by the TV shows that take this to another level. What concerns me however is the popularity and fame that one gets in a very short time can destruct ones peaceful life.Money on one hand , lots of eyeballs, media attention but the age where you are unprepared and not matured enough to take care of the fame leads to unfortunate incidents that he or she may repent. It may send someone into such a depression that the career and life one would have led sans all this is lost. What more, in western countries people get trapped in the drug and sex scandals and then we have fall outs like what happened to the young rock singer Winehouse. This is sad and unfortunate. Its our responsibility to guide and educate them as parents where ever applicable ( not so in the case of western society where independence is the key) .We must certainly give them a perspective and ensure that the external influences don't take over their innocent minds and drag them into the dark world of no return.Once in chances to recuperation or rehabilitation are few and hard.MJ and Tyson led to their own downfall inspite of such tremendous talent. The paparazzi hounds them, shreds their personal life in public space to sell their goods and ultimately contribute a lot in destroying what they have earned.Lets introspect and see what can be done to nurture this young budding talent and help them soak in that name and fame they deserve in a more responsible way.

education cobweb

A reputed university in Gujarat state , well known and acclaimed world wide at some point of time is in such a state that one wonders if education really has lost its meaning and significance. The callous and utter unprofessional set of people make it appear as if they are doing a big favor by turning up to teach or as a matter of fact attend classes .In the administrative section it is all in the hands of the "almighty"( political and unscrupulous characters who have made this place a political battlefield and nothing else).65% of the year gets over in these activities, no coordinated effort ,no proper information to students, forget guidance and assistance. It has all the office bearers appointed, covered by media but no on ground action. The action if at all taken is so disastrous that a highly deserving student would wonder what the hell am i doing here being so sincere? All the ATKT( allowed to keep terms) students have been moved to the next year lock , stock and barrel.imagine if out of 1200 odd students 350 pass in all subjects,650 are ATKT and others don't even qualify what standards are these? The number of people that fail in english is pathetic!!!Is this how we are going to encourage our children going ahead. We charge a fortune in pvt universities and get good infrastructure but doubtful about the standards. In reputed universities its like this so where does one go? Provide funds for managing such institutes and you will find them always flushed away in a scam!!Professors!!!...who will come on a paltry salary and why would one come and spend man hours with no motivation or infrastructure to impart knowledge to the students?I hate to be critical but this really angers you .The student when he questions the unprofessional behavior would find himself at the other end of the stick and be penalized. And as we are known to be patient and ever understanding we bear all this crap.

blame it on rio

Just saw a sad incident of a family that got swept away in a sudden water current while on a picnic.Flash news on the ever enthusiastic electronic media, sansani on star news , and views, opinions , blame game etc starts. Now if one sees where they all were perched in the first place( middle of the river basin on a stone) inspite of warnings then who is to be blamed. If you sit in the middle of a river that ends up in a waterfall in the midst of monsoons are we doing the right thing in jeopardizing the family.Educated, MBA students and people from a good family do this then how can we ever create a safe environment. Is is that when ever we put rules and regulations" Indians in general "have to find a way to break it??Do we have to be told like school kids "don't spit", don't trespass" don't this, don't that!!!!!Its like knowingly committing suicide. Are we trying to project a macho image,or are we just deriving a sense of false pride and get a kick from doing such stupid actions. We will overload transport vehicles, we will go the wrong way in a no entry,we must park in a no parking zone, we will create a noise in the silence zone,we will dirty a place which is not ours ,because it belongs to the public.Who then is the public? Why always blame the governance?Again we come to the same point.Until and unless we stop committing such stupid mistakes we have no chance of being respected as global citizens.Where is all that common sense???Please for heavens sake drive this sense into one and all right from birth and create a sense of responsibility and accountability( zimmedari and jababdari)in each individual that when he grows up he practices what he preaches and make this a safer and better world ,a better India. How come these things don't happen in other countries?Or are they less hyped or is the media less active???May be they have better educated citizens who own the country and are proud to be part of it.

toddler world

Those little colourful toddlers in the kindergarten next door are in such a state of bliss, oblivious to the real world around them and the next 100 years they may need to face. What a dreadful thought!I wonder after going through the daily grind, getting chiseled and powdered by the mortars of every day life what is going to be the state of these budding youngsters when they have to go through this ?Possibly it would be a few hundred times more than what we are facing today.Mere thoughts of bringing them up with rising inflationary pressures, peer pressures, adulterations, scams, victimization, health scares and deteriorating environment concerns is scary. We as their grandparent, parents have to create a decent base for them to struggle and survive these next 50-100 years . The pressure on infrastructure, roads, food supplies, depleting natural resources, cost of running a house and of course acquiring one , which is a must nowadays is phenomenol. The way the mother earth reacts spewing out the volcanoes and tsunamis, earthquakes and typhoons is a sure warning for all of us to take necessary steps and make this world a better place for the generation next.Bringing a new life into this world may be an accident, may be by choice and may be to proove a point or due to sheer unemployment. Some times I wonder how all the shanties in our cities have kids sprawling around , sitting on the roads/pavements and surviving on one hand and growing by the dozens, and yet managing to survive. They do add pressure on our systems and resources. What are we doing about them? From the educated world we knowingly keep adding to keep our DNA alive or the lineage so that many centuries from now our spirits roaming around in this world (as we still would be nurturing some incomplete desires and wants which are never ending)could possibly be happy to see them still in use on the college and school musters.Think hard ,think fast and act quick so as to help us create a place worth living for centuries ahead.

global carts

walk in the lanes and bylanes of Mumbai,Kolkatta, Vadodara and you would notice the aromas that spread through these narrow passages and stir up your senses and remind you that you are in gourmet bowl. Why?Because you have these small setups on a handcart or a 100 square feet structure with fancy names and weird spellings to make them sound authentic and painted name plates that would make you feel as if you are in China or any part of the world that is food land.Be it chinese ( spelt chines) or Thai, punjabi( aloo parathas) or south Indian( dhosa instead of dosa),chat( gujarati community live on them),mumbai( pav bhaji) and the last but not least a cart churning out 200 varieties of egg preparations alone!!!!!!!!whew. Then there is Jain food with out garlic etc and also strictly vegetarian affair ,add to it the cart standing next to it churning out Tandoori kebabs and parathas.Mouthwatering delicacies at just half the price and at times much more tastier than the 5 star Hotel stuff .I forgot to mention the icecream and kulfi stalls followed by the Pan shop who must be a billionaire by now.Foodies would love to come in their swanky cars and pack up stuff to cart it home .What infrastructure, what profit margins ,what business sense???Do i see a Howard MBA here? Are these people more successful in running their small shops than the overburdened high end organizations? The marketing is word of mouth, packaging is simple and yet practical, expectations less so no agencies like JD powers doing sales satisfaction scores to benchmark you against competition.EarningS and footfalls a plenty.Start time 1900 hrs till 2300 hrs,7 days a week.Wonder how much this tea stall next door with 1 person churning out cups of tea every day for 5 bucks must be earning without a question about income tax........cash transactions , no credit.Must think louder..........good option going forward.

bed sores worth crores

Flash news on a TV channel," 50 crores spent on the samadhi of a revered Guru in India'.I wonder ,did the Guru when alive ever preach of spending this kind of money on a samadhi? When they are suppose to preach doing good for mankind and helping the needy and getting them into a comfortable zone, is this what is comfortable?50 lacs donated by a leading cricketer for the same, wouldn't that have helped in 5-10 bypass surgeries for the needy or provide food to 400 plus elderly couples for 1 year. For an auspicious day like guru poornima one needs to donate/give and wisely so.The Charitable trust of the same guru is under the scanner for amassing huge wealth ,what more is required to exhibit such irrational expenditure in my opinion. The guru is alive in spirit and doesn't need these luxuries. The people coming do come with faith and not to see the ornaments and materialistic show.Could this not have been invested in a hospital or emergency services which our country needs badly and desperately? When will we really come to our senses? There is a scam in a donation of a shawl given at a holy place which was of 25000 rs and claimed to be 25 Lacs....Wow.One has guts to do such a thing to a Guru. What happens to it ?kept in a cupboard or years later unearthed by the income tax department in a scam?why???????Sai baba would be so hurt by all this madness and stupidity!!!God bless us.

terror blinder

Mumbai-another attack.Loss of innocent lives and the very well known blame game starts.Politicians and the never say die spirit of the Mumbaikars. What have we learnt as Mumbaikars?Life continues.Sensex goes up by a 100 points the next day, locals run on time, people run to office except the zaveri bazaar close down.People dealing with diamonds are now claiming a lot of diamond roughs could be lost as they are carried by the traders on their person. This inspite of knowing the hazards?Inspite of earning in tons they prefer to work out of the shanty ,cramped work place to reduce costs and get maximum profit. One has barely any place to walk and in such a crowded place you expect the government and police to patrol and check every person and vehicle to determine who is the next culprit??Is this rational? Why can't we be more accountable and also create the environment and follow some guidelines that make the life for the MHA and security personnel to ensure our protection? When they search and check vehicles we get annoyed, when they frisk we write columns in newspapers, and when these situations take place we blame the cops .I disagree. How come the Diamond Traders have now decided to move to BKC( Bandra Kurla complex)?.We create circumstances inviting trouble and then blame it on the govt.Yes govt is responsible and has to improve no doubt, but its the easiest to point a finger there when 3 are pointing at us.We know how courteous we are with the terrorist housing and nursing them for years with the tax payers money once caught and treated like VIPs in "anda cells" with no decisions for years on capital punishment. But this is our country and while respecting the spirit of our people we need to look within and find how these situations can be best prevented by being your own police.....each one of us.High alert and awareness will lead to improving the life of us Mumbaikars.Jai Maharashtra.Vande Mataram.

week long

Imagine when people have to work in offices Monday to Saturday( 6 day week), 0930-1900 hrs ( official times), Indian stretchable times are extra , how does one really miss out on profitability and productivity then??To add to this the showoffs will sit back after office to show their in(efficiencies) and impress the boss.HR department then works out a rule putting strict restrictions in terms of 1 minute late reportng to work is 'LATE".3 consecutive late marks and we deduct half a day of his or her salary .Then the person if one observes actually takes 20 mins to slip into the formal uniforms( especially ladies),the technicians take 1 hr instead of a 35 mins lunch break, the back office winds up 30 mins early to get ready for departure and 30 mins are spent in tea breaks and chats.what is the point in having such long hours and ending up unproductive? In my opinion cutting his salary for half a day should a person be late 1 min each day for 3 days the person may decide not to come on the 3rd day for half a day and sacrifice his salary rather than be penalized. How about the productivity loss due to the person not being there( if it really makes a difference)?
Lets rework this and keep flexi times.Set the ground rules, explain the targets and the implications for not reaching one, know the incentives for reaching one and then roll.As long as the work gets done why insist on someone being bodily present for the so called 9hours 30 minutes every day and then comes a Sunday where you sleep of and little realize that you are ready for the Monday morning blues with no refresh in the real sense. This is where the 5 day week works best and one has a good work life balance.Whats the point otherwise performing at 50%through the week , tired and fagged out and burning out early.Hope business owners realize these issues and make amends which are more practical and those that get better results to the bottom line.

temple-ton

100000 crore and counting....gold,jewellery and precious stones and metal hidden in the belly of the earth under the base of a Temple in South India.Mind Blowing.I am not good at maths but surely know that it can clean up Indian poverty and provide education and 2 square meals a day to every INDIAN.Just one move and that is god willing.Add to it the monies from the multi crore scams we will be like Libya a country that doesn't owe a single dollar to any monetary fund or country.( THIS IS A LITTLE KNOWN FACT).Why not utilize these treasures to take care of those who really are in need , create opportunities for them to earn a living and improve Indian economy. Why keep it in lock and key ?We are a blessed country indeed with so many saints!!!Satya sai baba and his trust( multi crore again), amma, sri sri ,ramdev baba, pawars, kalmadis, the karunas and lalithas, and many others including our very own osho who owned 93 rolls Royce in Oregon USA when he died. What is the point in amassing all this wealth and creating tussles after one expires? Why not really put it to use and earn karmic points and live eternally than score brownie points when you live one life. What do the saints and baba;s need?why do we need the legal systems to intervene and protect this wealth when it is used appropriately when the person who created it dispenses with it when alive.Warren buffet, Bill and Melinda gates are living examples.Real saints then are mother Teresa. She only gave every bit for the world and earned so much of genuine love and respect. Why cannot our other holy brethren do the same.we have everything ,yet we have nothing till you don't share and learn to give.

copped out

Had a chance to have a heart to heart talk with a police official yesterday who has served in the force for over 32 years.Aged 52, has gone through an angiography and been advised for a bypass 10 years a go but hasn't done it except medication simply because its beyond his reach. He says" let fate decide".A duty that has no fixed hours of work, resolving complains and disputes by the day , talking to people who proclaim to be educated but behave unlike them, uneducated people take donkey ears to settle issues for which they have to write tons of papers and end up thankless. The urgent call from the superior to take an immediate action on a social issue,or attending to an accidential death of a young engineer on a visit to the city who expired in a hotel as he was asleep.Age 24 years only.Hailing from a city where Hindi is not spoken,English is an issue for the cops and no translator to interpret the exact reason. To add to the top of all this heavy rains, a coffin made to order as his height is 6feet 3 inches ,to transport the body to the native place, complete the documentation and then walk back home tired and drained out to possible family time post 2200 hrs.One would normally go beserk trying to solve disputes of our own, imagine what happens here with piles and piles of disputes and all pressures coming from politicos, higher ups,and those that are not even connected to the issue by far.HIS SALARY.......anybody's guess? How many of us thank him genuinely??We sort of respect him for his chair and not him because tomorrow someone else will come as he gets transferred or retires. What a life??This is just the tip of the iceberg, imagine 90% yet to be exposed.

bbudah--the beep beep baap

Amitabh--the one and only, towering above the rest and having out shined almost all Bollywood stars in the last 3 generations is no doubt a class apart.I have been his fan since the '70's and actually started seeing movies only because of him.Zanjeer made that happen and since then its been every movie he was in I wouldn't miss. 42 years later and his latest release BHTP did create that urge to see him in the multiplex.Going against the new gen preference of DELHI BELLY i preferred the sophisticated bachchan "beeps".Nice to watch him in action and drive that movie....but.........i think its time that he an intelligent human being, very sophisticated, humble, disciplined( i had a chance to sell him a Mercedes for Jaya's birthday and met him in person) must make way for the next generation. One needs to draw a line at some point of time and that i believe has come.Wealth, fame, name, what not. What more does one have to earn in this life?Hes got his family secured for possibly 5-10 generations. His children can take over the mantle and he could do TV shows only just to keep his actor in him alive. Why stretch so much and drag now?I have immense respect for him and am extremely fascinated by his persona and don't wish that to ebb or die out .Its always been good when people fade out at their peak not when they hit the nadir. So my sincere suggestion Mr.bbudah hope you take this in the right spirit.

soap opera

TV, serials, prime time, typical music in the backdrop, tense audience watching the same sequence without blinking an eyelid, repeat and repeat till u drown, in it.Familiar? In India yes.Anything that happens three times is a result of the soaps that have made it popular.Ask me what and check out that tight slap given by the mother in law to the daughter in law,it will resonate 3 times..bam bam bam.The camera will pan and keep showing that impact as if it were a nuclear explosion that rocked the country. The heavy makeup when you sleep and the brocaded, silk , high end exclusive sarees that one wears even at home makes you wonder-- wow why does one have to run after the swiss money ...??Sell a few of these and one could be a millionaire. The makeup manufacturers must be a happy lot to see there products being used at night time ,the mascara, the rouge the eyeliners and eyeshadow clubbed up with the jewellery....goodness gracious. What surprises me is that the TRP ratings are high and people flock to see this 'soap' which really needs cleansing in my opinion.Out of the 30 minutes, 15 minutes are advertisement space, balance 10 mins for repeating the same frame with all resonating background music and 5 mins of sobdom where glycerine flows free.Extra marital exploits, children born out of wedlock, anger , jealousy, and all such emotions flowing freely and educating the current generation what they should or should not do.Why can't we have laughter, comedy( clean and witty) not the garbage and double edged strained comedies we have to make our stressed life a bit simple and nice end of the day.Even the news is full of negative tones and what remains is a stressed out, demoralized Indian, looking lost and confused and unable to think sane with all this "c++p" around him.why don't the producers apply some creativity and add spice and fun to the average Indians life than stressing on the reality marriage shows and the likes?

Children are the apple of the eye for the parents ...so we hear. But one look on the streets of vadodara and seeing the mobility adopted for kids to transit to school one wonders how far parents go and compromise on saving money. The way you see the autos "stuffed" literally reminds you of a chef going haywire with his samosa stuffing and the samosa cover( auto ) in this case bursting at its seams. The way the 3 seater so to say carrying 13 -14 kids you barely see who is driving. The traffic regulations are flouted, safety norms thrown to the winds and the way the children are perched from different openings through the rear window, from both sides in the rear and the front seats is frightening. To top it up the icing on the cake is the the bags and water bottles bulging outside the auto technical specifications which must be making the big time auto manufacturers wonder "why they spend so much on specifications and safety and weight(gross and kerb)?.It is immaterial anyway. This is not the case for school kids but also normal passengers shuttling around the city and in front of the police who don't bat an eyelid. One day it appears in the newspapers and the second day its forgotten. How can anyone ever stick to rules? Are we so dumb or plain arrogant and reckless?is it that because of the 1.2 billion people of India that we don't value human life?God forbid if a tragedy takes place only then are we ready to take to the streets !!What a pity?when will we learn? This applies to many other cities and various excuses are given blaming public transportation and the lack of it etc.No permanent solutions though. We just don't have the will and the inclination to make that happen.chalta hai attitude till one day it effect you!!!!!!

home alone

When you sit and dream about the house you wish to own or possess one fine day in your life ( your first major investment--or should i say perceived investment)how does one feel?.This I say mainly because you borrow a loan upto 85-90% and the house is technically belonging to the bank till the time you repay the loan back with interest in about 15 years !!!.Now the notional benefit that real estate prices will go up and that you would get maybe 30%-100% returns or even more is only if you decide to sell it then and get you monies. But then where will you stay??True when you dream of owning a house, pay up your hard earned monies ,especially the interest that kills you in the first years and subsequently due to inflation etc in the next years as well you end up probably loosing the charm of owning one at least for 10 years plus. But having a shelter which is yours is a big relief as this life is a roller coaster ride and you don't know when you might hit the nadir. Now then it is prudent to invest and have something of your own that takes care of your peaceful sleep at nights. You then dream of the way you started hunting for the right place and then narrowed down to this dream location, then got the banks involved who were more than glad to take your autographs may be in 102 places which you willingly did( may be without reading the fine print) and started your emi schedules which drain you of your wallet but translate into bricks and mortar emerging from mother earth. This goes on till things take shape and you start to zero down on the date you want to step into this abode. What a feeling!!!Awesome to step into those square feet of vitrified tiles , surrounded by cement walls and adorned by the pastel shades waiting to be decked up by its new owner. You drown in the blissful surrounding oblivious of the noise made next door by the interior guy doing the neighbors house.Do i have the monies to do my house better than my neighbor?Do i borrow more money to do this up?I still go ahead and deck it up and stretch my self --mentally and financially.Everything that you get into that house ----depreciates!!When and if you decide to sell that it would fetch peanuts. The house after 15 years when you can possibly afford a bigger and better house you decide to sell this off and get another one but at what price? And think about the next 15 years you again don't own a house but live in one owned by the bank. What a cycle?where are my returns i wonder?

entreprenuer

Everyone almost wants to get their little ones in the best of schools and then make him into a top ranking student in academics and then realize ........have i missed an opportunity to see him or her being an entrepreneur? This is possible because most of the schools have teachers that have a limited vision as they are not so well paid individuals who are supposed to teach and impart education what has been either taught to them or written in the curriculum which you have to follow because its mandatory. Now comes the issue! If you don't have the inclination to be an entrepreneur then how on earth will you inculcate the habit or drive the child to think and act like one from his early days.Risk taking appetite, analytical ability, maths and money ,interest how it works 24hrs and doesn't stop for anyone, team and man management, objection handling, grooming, personality development, decision making, forecasting ability and reading trends, and most importantly how to start from scratch and manage those initial times when you really need it the most.We learn history, geography,English, maths( half of them hate it purely because its not made interesting enough a subject when its taught) and other subjects which remain bookish. What one needs is the exposure to ground reality.Big industrialist have become successful as they learnt the lesson that life taught them(grab your opportunities and don't wait for anyone). The willingness to step into business at a young age, take those steps and dare to fail is what is crucial. We may be academically superior but always slave for others who earn the monies.10% of people in this world rule 90% of those who serve them.I manage the first line they manage the rest. Those who have come up this way and made a success must therefore encourage and teach the basic fundamentals of being a "ruler" of his or her small kingdom, than being ruled.Be your own boss and unleash that potential which you would do to contribute to someone else.Early days time is on your side, responsibilities are less, and course corrections possible until later when it might be a trifle late.Rather working for money, make money work for you.Investing and reinvesting in the right directions in any resource at the right time is the key.One learns it if only given a direction and opportunity and we need to create more of such entrepreneurs in my opinion who in turn will engage people from all across and make India grow.So business leaders contribute to teaching the fundamentals and teach the teachers so that they in turn can create more Tata, Birlas and Ambani's

animosity

just yesterday got to know about an incident that really made me wonder as to how inhuman we human beings can be when it comes to treating stray dogs or animals in general who cannot speak but can only express ,if you are willing to understand their language. Why on earth are we so cruel?what have they really done if they were bought into this world to live on the streets? We have the power to express and control our emotions,to understand and empathize, then why are we so different when we treat these innocent animals.is it wrong to give them water when the sun is at its peak and their body temperatures are 5-7 degrees above our normal temperatures? They search for food in garbage dumps, or look around for some one who could feed them a morsel, whats wrong? They don't want your air conditioned comfort, or flashy cars. They would rather sleep below a dilapidated junk car with or without food irrespective of the rains or sun and possibly hope that they can get a good sleep without being rudely stoned or kicked by a lunatic called "mankind".The cows on the street look at you with pure emotions and give them leaves, bread, or any food and they would be overjoyed. We have criminal mentality in us , they don't.We want all the luxuries in life , they don't.Then why detest them and drive them off or throw stones or in some extreme cases beat them till they bleed to death.Honestly that's what happened a day back and shows that if you were in that place at the receiving end then what would happen.?It is cruel and deserves no sympathy. If you can't do good to anyone, don't harm them at least. You have no right to do so.If we are scared of animals just because of the size and 4 legs maybe, don't they have the right to feel equally scared about us and our habits.Who is more scary? One with 2 hands 2 feet, a gun, stick or a knife and a tongue which can swear or the 2 horned , 4 legs pure vegetarian harmless animal on the road that can barely express its thoughts?Even if he or she wishes to befriend us we are paranoid!Being human is more important than just being Human being.
