There is the truth and reality on one side in life and then there is a facade. However thin it may be but it exists, I presume in everybody.
One tries his level best to live his own life and on his as well as his loved ones terms to the best possible extent. Many a times , we adjust , adapt and try to smother out the creases to avoid conflicts and unpleasant situations. We restrain ourselves to ensure that the overall harmony of the place is maintained. We try to drive logic as we may see it practical and also try to help our loved ones to take a decision and not decide for them.Yet , many a times , inspite of all these efforts , we find that the same people tend to take us for granted or behind our back behave differently. This exposes the facade under which they live. That hurts.
One may try to stay away and ignore the same but somewhere deep within you feel that is that really what we deserve. We give enough and more freedom for the Gen-X to live their lives, take decisions and prepare for their future, be it academically or otherwise. They are never put under pressure to outperform anybody or be an A grader all the time as what is more important is to be smart and a good Human being. It helps. After all this and minimizing the so called perceived interference of the adults as the Gen-X feels, they still crib. What can one say?Immaturity, dissatisfaction, peer pressures, stress, external influences?
That , one day they too will realise this and will have to go through this is a fact.Wish they understand and realize the great advantage they have in having adults at home who give them the respect and space to live life at their own terms , even though they are dependent on us.
God bless them and help them cruise through .

Nice one....quite true.
ReplyDeleteWe never got any space when we were young and we did not crib. We did not know that we could crib at all. Now the gen x has everything on their platter ready made without any struggle which has spoilt them enough. They don't value the freedom we gave them because they always thought it was their birth right. We have now o play in their hands at get treated howsoever they wish to treat us and we can't blame anyone but ourselves or the changed circumstances !!
