mind games

Of late I have developed a habit of reading minds. It all started by chance. The way people walk into your office ,or start the telephonic conversation, or just the pause and tone sets your mind into a fast pace, adrenaline rush that moves at an awesome speed, calibrating, assessing, deciphering and trying to find the simple cause that has twirled the mind of the person i am facing .We have become so complex that with time we just have forgotten to keep things simple. We jump to conclusions and derive such interpretations that we get muddled and then try to untangle out of the mess we ourselves have created.

Case 1:A divorcee , age 29, one kid in toe, and jumping into another relationship with some one younger, not yet established but going against the egos of the family members, over caring, excessively protective and resulting in destroying her career, not knowing what to do.

Case 2:Newly weds, under 1 year, both working, husband loses job, wants to be choosy about selecting a new job, tells wife to leave her job as he gets bored at home alone???Wife wants to work, husband wants to go to his home town to stay with his parents who pamper him like a small kid and shelter him stating stay back and relax.Wife annoyed but cannot voice her opinion,so tags along unable to decide for him and herself.Jobless couple clinging on to their parental umbrella.

Case 3: Lady,Age 19, intercaste marriage, no responsibility, loves to bike around, swig a drink or 2 and finding exceedingly difficult to cope with in law tantrums.Leaves current job for a few pennies more and plans for a family expansion.Realises she has a lump in the breast and ...............life becomes a question mark???

Case 4:Lady with 7-8 years professional experience, husband working but 110kms away and transits daily up and down by train, meets with an accident, down and out for 6 months, loses job, metal rods in the fractured leg dampens his hopes , wife struggling to make both ends meet and taking care of 2 kids.........

All these and more, daily encounters and muddled looks, effecting the professional work and end up looking confused and wouldn't really know which way these stories progress.Life is a big canvas and looking at an average age of 70 years , imagine 45-50 years of this ordeal.Lack of maturity, no proper guidance from underexposed parents or conservative families and bloated egos that lead to potentially hazardous situations for such people in the coming times.

Need counseling and hand holding to ensure people reduce the stress in their lives. The coming times are difficult and we need to keep things simple,Give up materialistic pursuits and keep to basics without getting into the rat race.Peer pressures need to be ignored. Will Gen Y manage?
